I literally spent all day finding the items I need to upgrade the garden and the courtyard and there is virtually zero difference in either of them. I went to the table thing and bought the upgrades and yes I went to the little marker thing like when you set up camp sites. I chose the chantry garden and the infirmary, but there is no difference. Help!
No difference in skyhold upgrades

For the garden the room with the statue of Andraste should be in use now. As for the infirmary that was is a loss to me too.

The infirmary is in the house (more like a shack) between the tavern and the house with the requisition table in it. Just walk straight by Cassandra, and you should see it.
