I need to try and get there o 3o I want to see if my health drops!

Found a discussion on reddit that your health drops if you stand in the way of his raised hand. There should be some kind of beam that burns you to death, but I didn't see anything O.o

Serously? I walked around that cave a bit and nothing happened o.O

Maybe I haven't realised my health is dropping because I had guard up?

Ok, I went there again.

It really makes your health drop, but... that spot is so tiny! A bit to the right or a bit to the left and you're safe o.O

Oh, no.  That sounds like what happened to me when I was being bull-headed and impatient in the Fallow Mire with that one undead and the fire trap.  Was it difficult to get out, or did you have to swill health potions, or was it a one shot deal once the trap was sprung?  I'm going to check it out first chance I get, but I'm still several levels away from being ready for the Hakkonites.

My personal fav I just discovered after replaying DAO is in DAI when Loghain says an old friend gave him maps long ago. He's referring to the Warden. Maps were his fav gift in DAO.

Since I didn't see any "beam of death" I think I just stood still wondering if it was some invisible enemy bugging out since my inky didn't enter "battle stance". The others did not get injured so I think that you only take damage as long as you stay in the spot :) And it's not an instakill, I think I lost about 20-25% health per 2 seconds or something like that.

You know, if I think about it, that's even more Iron Man-like.

Not really easter egg but WHAT in the world is up with those fainting orlesians? They are so random and no one around them even acknowledges it. They just continue talking like nothing happened while a fella next to them just falls very melodramatically on the floor. And doesn't even get up. As if suddenly died out of.. I dunno, heat lol?

What do you expect? They are Orlesian.

I remember the one in DA2 who is all dramatic and nearly faints and Varric mocks her.

What do you mean? The other two Orlesians always comment on the fainter's performance.

There's a Codex in the Western Approach that is rife with Transformers references.

"And as I walked in the desert, I saw a great armored figure whose form blotted out the sky. At first I took it to be no more than met the eye, a simple spiked statue, but as I approached, this deceptive icon transformed into a warrior as graceful as it was massive, its bladed staff leveled at me with energy crackling from its tip. Though my position was hardly optimal (primal magic burned a few feet from my face), I kept my wits and asked this mighty golem to show me mercy.

The armored figure spoke with a voice to make the sky quake and the stars scream. It sought magic to keep itself alive, it said, and the blood of the earth was the energy on which it survived. Having knowledge of the dwarves and the lyrium they provided to our mages, I directed the golem to the mage Atronis (note: anagram for "Is Megatron"), who lived in nearby Perivantium, and it left without another word.

That is the inspiration for the gate guardians I have designed, as fanciful a tale as it might seem. As for why I have asked that each guardian cast from my designs be inset with a small lyrium rod, I must primarily state that it is mere fancy. If Archon Ishal, gentle autocrat that he is, sees fit to ensure that my statues are known across the empire—I hear that one shall stand in the Western Approach—I would treasure the small hope that someday, I might see one walk again."

I don't think "mage Atronis" needs to be a literal anagram for us to catch the obvious reference to Megatron. But yes, Transformers is exactly what I thought when reading that codex and taking a look at the statues. Now we know for certain.

Despite being a big fat Transformers reference, the fact remains that this is a codex in the Dragon Age universe. So what the hell is this actually talking about? Is this an encounter with a Titan?

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but there's a pretty funny DA2 reference in party banter between The Iron Bull and Varric.

Yes!  This!  I just found it today (in part since I had to wait until Tuesday to play it, silly PS4) and I died.

That codex is the greatest thing that has ever happened.  Storvacker as Regina George.  "One time she met Alistair, and he told her she was pretty"

Edit:

Oh.  I think I just got it.

I'm not getting the Cassandra middle names joke and am too lazy to google it. Someone want to help me out?

If anyone could be so kind to send me explanation as well, I would be grateful.

I won't go into any details, but it seems to point to a lady of a "questionable" profession. I'll leave it at that.

Okay, let me spell it out. Cassanda+one of her secondary names together gets a name of a semi-well known woman in the porn profession. Won't say more, mods seem to be touchy about talking about this... Easter egg :?.
