I have just had my jaws dropped at the rate at which my assassin is killing dragons. I was level 16, with Tier 3 dual slicers, each has 10% chance on hit to cast hidden blade with 5 hits, 401dps each, my team included vivienne blackwall and sera. 

Hinterland dragon actually took the longest, about 10 minutes, it flies out of range of melee on several occasions and you have to climb a hill at the end.

Crestwood dragon took less than two minutes, I went in with stealth, used all my skills, slicers activated hidden blades on more than a few occasions, dragon down to half HP! stealth came back on, repeated above, dragon is dead, I just saw skyrocketing numbers as big as 6-7k, the dragon didnt even get a chance to move!

Exalted planes dragon wiped us on the first run, it was very very close though, he died easily on the second go, just keep companions out of the water. 

 

Such a fun class to play with!

 

I was a KE on first play through, although I could solo the Sandy Howler at level 16 (very very close call) it was very boring, with just one button smash.

 

Can the warrior be as overpowered as this?

Well playing a reaver atm pretty good. Still would have liked berserker class as reaver animations are not good. It makes my sword just a bloody buff stick which is annoying as hell. Plan to try an assassin next.

Nice to see people are figuring out the KE isn't really that overpowered. It's just really easy to spec and play.  Other builds from other classes can compete.

Spirit Blade does not do damage that high. I'm pretty much within the 1k per hit range.

I find Spirit Blade doing monstrous numbers on guard, but it's the consistency to hit between 400-1000 on barriers and HP that makes a mage overpowered. The damage from my rogue drops occasionally due to the dragon taking me out of stealth, where for KE its pretty much the same three digit number per second, every second. Only thing I find annoying about the the SB is that I cant be too close to the target, because otherwise the camera tries to move my character about before swing that blade.

Tempest rogue is the deadliest killer due to unlimited focus. It's insane how much damage Thousand Cuts in combination with Hidden Blade enchantment deals. Especially since you can use it every 15-20 seconds in a boss fight.

I have yet to try that, currently I have seen Mark of death triggering 72K on a dragon, with mark of the rift

I use Cole for Mark of Death to let the damage numbers of my Tempest go through the roof.

Isn't that a bug? I seem to recall somebody mention it being a bug, and would be fixed.

That Masterwork piece trivializes every encounter in the game, even on Nightmare.

It seems to be a bug but AFAIK there is no official statement regarding this topic.

I just killed the high dragon in Western Approach with lvl 15 party (lvl 16 PC) without using any focus abilities in less than 2 mins - felt more like 1 min but didn't actually time it (hard difficulty).

 

Me- Rift / Lightning mage with 2 passives from fire

Dorian - Spirit / Necro

Sera - full archery with fire flask 

Cas - templar with def stuff from 2 trees

 

Crafted tier 2 gear (armor / weapons, only my staff has a greater spirit rune, staves are ~110 dps, cas 1h sword is ~130 dps, sera bow ~140 dps).

 

Lightning cage with weakness debuff and the HP just melts from chain lighting / walking bomb / exploding arrow etc.

 

So you don't really need focus abilities or bugs to kill dragons fast. No procs like hidden blades were used, I only use gain guard on mastery slots (because of Lightning Cage, building full guard on all group is almost instant, add double barriers and if needed resists potions / dispel, and it's really safe to play full action time).

Can assassin hidden blade hits ability trigger masterwork hidden blade ability from gear?

How exactly does hidden blades work with ranged weapons? Can it proc from any range?

Ignoring tempest focus, how about tempest archers instead!  Especially with longbow of the griffon and flask of lightning.

That's just what flask of lightning looks like to everyone else.  Using it on yourself just has it in slow mo, it looks awesome if you go on a different party member.

I haven't played as aTempest, but I know the Artificer is freaking amazing! I'm wanting to try Tempest on the next PT as a Dwarf

all I can say is I have done it. perhaps after few months, some peeps might be able to show you with a vid after posting on youtube.

then perhaps you can come back and acknowledge that it can be done.

 

the way to do it is craft all rogue the best bow and varric best Bianca upgrade version VI. craft sera and varric cunning prowler

make viviene immortal by stacking con, 2 x barrier duration ring and wear the appropriate resist belt. 1300hp with spirit tree and KE tree disable KE blade and fade step.

sera varric and youself need to be 90-100% crit chance with 150% chd, disable useless skill like fallback plan etc.

3 focus bars full and hail of arrow.

 

at least lvl 23+ and you need to know how to play as an artificer.

party set up is 3 rogue archer with main character as artificer and 1 spirit ice mage.

 

and yes, it is nightmare difficulty on empris du lion or sandy howler in hissing waste. 4 sec with or without dragon guard ability. ( can kill them before they even start guard or shriek stun)
