Anyone that downloaded the CE armour/weapon DLC is a thief and should be prosecuted accordingly.

also obvious troll is obvious. no sane rational human would think that taking advantage of an opportunity like that is sinful.

I find that very interesting on two accounts:
1.) As the point about welfare or social security was entirely applicable to this situation. For example, those on welfare get the hard-earned dollars of the formal working force for being incapable of supporting themselves. One underlying principle here is that irresponsibility is to be rewarded - however this should not be the case. Another is that people get access to something that isn't rightfully theirs. In the case of welfare and SS, it's money that they did not earn. In other words, it's a hand-out for those not responsible enough to rely upon themselves.
Just as the case with the stolen CE armour content, those who didn't go through the proper process of buying the CE still get access to CE content and for free no less while those who went through the lawful way had to pay extra for it! That sounds like people who were irresponsible, downloaded content that they didn't have a right to were rewarded for stealing.
2.) The other account that makes name-calling meaningless is that you are essentially trolling by not outright admitting you're dirty thieves, which you are. You're proving yourselves liars, as well.

As a PC purchaser of the Collector's Edition, I am outraged! Not at the DLC, mind you, just your accusations of irresponsibility and weakness and a lack of ethics on the part of those that seized the opportunity afforded them by Microsoft. No one is being hurt by the downloading. Neither Bioware nor EA, (well, almost no one, MS is in for some real hurting) stand to lose anything by this as the biggest value comes from the other, non-leaked bonuses. They would not have sold the items in the future, it is not a mutiplayer game, so you have not had any advantages stripped from you. If any potential customer were to stumble on it hey would have an incentive to purchase.
Also, your idea that everyone on social security or welfare is a dirty free loader and an irresponsible person is a bit pessimistic and presumptuous. This is the safety net that allows for the opportunities and flexibility for socio-economic mobility that make the US great, or the EU for that matter. If you have the will, and the drive, welfare can give you a chance to be more than the circumstances that have been forced upon you. Although the redistribution of wealth is a dangerous implement, the systems that you detest have proved over time to be a net benefit to society.
For the record, I am on the public dole. How else is a physicist supposed to do any pure research? Instruments are expensive. Well, maybe not the public dole, but I benefit from the taxes you pay, and you benefit from the stuff I learn.
And while I would normally loathe to do so, I wish you ill fortune and the ability to experience what can happen even if you are responsible. It will broaden your understanding of the world, and perhaps allow you to get over your limited perspective of a binary universe.
I leave you with this, from another game:
If our society seems more nihilistic than that of previous eras,
perhaps this is simply a sign of our maturity as a sentient species. As
our collective consciousness expands beyond a crucial point, we are at
last ready to accept life's fundamental truth: that life's only purpose
is life itself.

One more deep philosophical musing, if you'll allow it, you're a troll. GTFO and stop ruining a day filled with anxious excitement.

and for the record those who did get the dlc for free props to you, i paid my 10 dollars i am unlucky
and silent? you cant compare it to stealing a womans purse when she sets it down cause its not the same its more along the lines of a disgruntled employee putting an item on the shelf that isnt for sale yet and puts a big free sticker on it and gives it to the first person who asks, its not the fault of the person who recieved its the fault of the employee, which if you actually have employees it wouldnt suprise me if this happens to you, not that i believe that you are over 16 or have employees......

Should they be punished? No more so than any other theft of intellectual property. Of course since prosecutors can't imprison or fine millions of people they pick out a handful and the courts typically levy the fines of millions on a few dozen individuals.
"I just downloaded twelve songs!"
"And you will pay ten thousand dollars per download - court finds the defendant to pay one hundred twenty thousand dollars in fine, court adjourned."
There's an ammendment in our country that supposedly protects people from "cruel and unusual punishment." I'm not saying don't prosecute, what I am saying is let the time (or fine) fit the crime.

The only difference between what happened this morning and your typical everyday piracy was the method of download: host to client instead of peer to peer. That's it and using different forms of downloading isn't a crime.

The only difference between what happened this morning and piracy is that what happened this morning isn't piracy. Your example is a fallacy. The illicit download of songs was illegal because the artist or record companies never intended the songs to be distributed for free. Not so with this DLC release as they were ALWAYS intended to be free. People are trying real hardware to equate this with piracy, it just doesn't add up. I'm reasonalby certain that if IGN was caught advocating piracy, heads would roll.
I bought the CE and kudos to those who got the DLC.

Anyone that works for me that shows up tired because they stayed up until the wee hours in the morning is fired on the spot. I don't tolerate irresponsible people.
I also don't believe in welfare and food stamps. If you can't earn your keep, then you need to starve to death. Social Security is a bad joke. Why should I fund your retirement? I'll never see any of that money.
I just hate to see irresponsibility being rewarded.
Of course, BioWare should also be sued for their false advertising but they will be rewarded handsomely with their Mass Profits regardless of this poorly-handled debacle (that I fully believe was intentional).
