I have no problem running tesselation at medium, but it sure takes it toll on fps. Is it really worth it? haven't been able to spot any comparison shots of the tess settings. Thinking about going 'Low' or even Off.

Make 2 screenshots for yourself - one of each, then decide /shug.

Protip:  Take the shots good terrain in view.

Just ran 3 benchmark tests each on OFF, MEDIUM and HIGH. Pretty interesting results (I skipped the decimals on OFF runs):

OFF:  (1st run) 50 avg/40 min (2nd run) 50 avg/41 min  (3rd run) 50 avg/40 min

Med: (1st run) 49.2 avg/41.3 min (2nd run) 49.5 avg/41.4 min (3rd run) 49.8 avg/40.3 min     <---- a puny 1 fps diff from OFF option!

High: (1st run) 46.5 avg/37.8 min (2nd run) 45.8 avg/37.6 min (3rd run) 46.2 avg/38.1 min  <----some 4-5 fps diff from OFF

I Never ran Low or Ultra for obvious reasons. The 4-5 drop is worth it in nonpopulated areas but in towns where every frame counts (!?) aint worth it.

so Medium is the best choice for me at least on a i5 2500k @3700, 8g RAM and gtx 760 w 2gb vram
