I really like the direction that Bioware games are taking. I love the open world and the storyline, as well as customization. (I enjoy the crafting aspects too, good show! The lack of fear of nudity, blood, scandal and other such things is also a welcome direction.

My only regret is that for a game that was released a month and a week or so late for polishing, it isn't very polished. Bugs abound, and the multiplayer can be a total hassle because of them. I hope for fixes for this in the future.

Besides that, good show Bioware! I look forward to the next one in like... four years or so?

Their current model is reminiscent of an MMO. I think they will stick to this model for a while.

Less **** content with no desire demon, but we do have far more gay scenes. If this is the new direction bioware is taking I can see less sales in future games.

It's great, they seemed in the past to simply remove things people didn't like opposed to reworking them this time they've revisited and reworked them instead which means they aren't just listening to feedback they are taking it on board and thinking about how to adjust things to better the concept. Skyrim made at least semi open world a must now and what they've done with DA can be improved on but it's definitely been pushed in the right direction.

****** = yay.

Dicks = booickyyuck.

If you're the kind of crowd that's going to leave if BIoWare continues in this direction - and I say this as a hetero male - you won't be missed.

Seriously?  There's about 20 minutes worth of gay content out of 100+ hours in this game in a single playthrough and it's all optional.  If you can't deal with that then it's clear to me who has the mental issues.

This is satirical, right? I mean, there can't really be this much gay panic in the fanbase.

Well, it definitely is a departure from older BW games in some ways. As for how successful DA:I is? I still think the MMO:ism shines bit too much through on the zone play and I did not find it that enjoyable. Whole package feels like it was put together from parts that don`t quite mesh together, but still function as a game regardless.

Makes you wonder what they are so nervous about, right?  I mean, could the sight of Dorian's naked ass really set someone into such panic?

From the reaction to Anders, I think there is exactly that much gay panic in the fanbase.

I'm not sure why people who hate The Gay so much haven't already left, though. It's not like it hasn't been there since Jade Empire! You'd think they'd have noticed the direction the wind is blowing by now.

I didn't really miss the 'old' demon types not appearing in DA:I. Frankly, the whole 'sexy succubus' thing going on with Desire demons didn't make sense a lot of the time anyway- wouldn't Connor be more likely to trust a Revered Mother or kind old man to help his father rather than some half naked purplish lady with horns?

The fact that you can have that many chance for a gay scene compare to a normal romance scene which is acceptable to the church means straight players will be uncomfortable.

Why would I feel uncomfortable because somebody else got some Dorian action?

Speak for yourself. I'm a straight male, and I didn't have any issue with Dorian. He was actually a pretty cool and funny character. In fact it was refreshing that I didn't have him hit on me like Anders did, I thought the way they handled it this time was much better. I may not agree with that lifestyle, but that doesn't mean I would stop playing the game because they offered that content for people who enjoyed it. Like it or not gay people exist, you can't fault bioware for making their game similar to the real world or giving every person the option to play a character that resembles their real life values. They don't even force it on you, you have to seek that particular romance content out. I don't see what the issue is here.

Because it's available in the first place, games where kids play should not encourage gay behavior.

Pretty sure Inquisition has the highest launch sales of any Dragon Age game to date, so...I doubt it.

DA 2 has better launch sales than DA O and yet it still loses to the sales volume of DA O due to low sales compared to DA O months later.

Someone brought this up in another thread - This is not a kids game. End of story. The burden of parenting does not fall upon Bioware, it falls upon the parents. If you see a M rating, that also includes nudity then you don't need to pick it up for your kids. I'm not even sure a child could appreciate the complexity and depth of an RPG such as this. They'd probably be bored within the first 5 minutes.

And Inquisition is a measurably better game than DA2. Everywhere I've been the consensus has been that it's buggy but highly enjoyable. So word of mouth is going to keep sales steady through Christmas.

Like it or not, diversity is what Bioware is going with, and it seems like it's paying off for them.

Much of the reaction to Anders was due to the change in an existing character, not just that they made him gay.

We will see months later.
