Someone brought this up in another thread - This is not a kids game. End of story. The burden of parenting does not fall upon Bioware, it falls upon the parents. If you see a M rating, that also includes nudity then you don't need to pick it up for your kids. I'm not even sure a child could appreciate the complexity and depth of an RPG such as this. They'd probably be bored within the first 5 minutes.

Do you really think their parents would even know about the gay content, the parents most probably think it's another fantasy game that has gore just like those FPS games and just buy it for their kids.

It's their job as parents to fully vet whatever they show their children. So if they don't bother to research a game that is rated M and includes nudity, then the consequences of their failure to diligently scrutinize every aspect is theirs alone. At this point you're just making excuses for bad parenting.

Because it's available in the first place, games where kids play should not encourage gay behavior.

Gay "behavior" is not a choice. If a child is gay he will acknowledge it no matter lack of external influences. Nothing of external can "encourage" a sexual behavior as it's something that is at your inner core.

Step down your church pedestal and begin to inform yourself on the things you talk about.

The church disagrees on that, there are 2 characters that are full gay in DAI while the pass 2 games has companion that do both sexes.

I thought it obvious that they are heading for the action fps game.  Games like this they can churn out one per year.  Loads of money.

The church "disagrees" on many idiotic things (as not using condoms in third world countries) but that hardly means something relevant.

As Blake said: "As the caterpillar chooses the fairest leaves to lay her eggs on, so the priest lays his curse on the fairest joys."

Lets try to avoid anti gay/religious arguments in here. You can express your views without being hostile towards those who hold opposing ones.

Who will do what, exactly? Liberals have been trying to ban M games in California for a while now, to no avail. If they cannot do it in that state, I think we're safe.

I for one hope that the direction they are headed for is not towards clunky, barely functional combat.

And I think that there's way less "gay panic" in the player base than all the Anders hate may suggest. I'm a straight man who was flattered when Zevran expressed interest and I'd feel the same if Dorian did. However, Anders gave me this Bates Motel vibe when he hit on my male Hawke. "Hai! I murder knifed my previous lover four and a half minutes ago. Wanna be my rebound?". Creepiest creep who ever creeped regardless of sexuality. I think not digging that doesn't quite equate " gay panic"... otherwise Zevran would get the same hate.

You've obviously never raised a kid mate. Not to take the wind from your sails, but kids are pretty complex little buggers; however I'm pretty sure they can handle the concept of sexuality and love. You know, even if the videogame character is gay or not. ;)

Some of these comments make me hope for a future BioWare game that is just full of so much Gaytm you can't turn a corner without bumping into it.

On topic, though it does feel a little early to even be thinking about it, I'm hoping they carry on along the Inquisition path. I'd be a little worried about them going too big and sacrificing story telling in favor of other elements, which I think would be a mistake (and unlikely). Regardless, I trust them to find a lovely balance.

I can't at all speculate on where they'll go next with a world as big as Thedas. Maybe North.

I agree, I think pretty much anything online is always blown out of proportion.  When you see dozens of posts/comments about something, it's easy to think that those posts represent a lot more people than they really do.  I don't think there's any more "gay panic" among BioWare fans than there is anywhere else.

Perhaps it depends on the child. I was very complex at a young age so I probably didn't mean to say every child couldn't appreciate it, but the average kid. A lot of it has to do with how they are raised.

I am going to wait until the price drops, but I am looking forward to Inquisition. Bioware games have been on a steep decline since Origins and Mass Effect. I am hoping this reverses that direction, but I'm bothered that they attempt to fix what isn't broken and didn't just go back to what worked so well in Origins. There's no reason they had to radically change the combat mechanics.

Also, their is way too much back and forth with Han Master. Either he is trolling and you are idiots for being sucked in, or he is someone being silly that you should just ignore. Don't reply just to feel you are cool.

I don't mind the open world, provided that Bioware does not take some "one size fits all" approach, where they decide every single game they make must have an open world because of x, y, or z reasons. Whatever their decision, I want the game experience to feel suitable to the narrative they're trying to tell. DA:I is a great change of pace. If I'm still playing a similar style experience 5 games down the line, I'll probably grow bored.

I think they're doing it for more exploration and immersion. The next Mass Effect seems to be following this new trend as well. I thought it was well done, but that's just my take on the matter.

I really like the direction that Bioware games are taking. I love the open world and the storyline, as well as customization. (I enjoy the crafting aspects too, good show! The lack of fear of nudity, blood, scandal and other such things is also a welcome direction.

My only regret is that for a game that was released a month and a week or so late for polishing, it isn't very polished. Bugs abound, and the multiplayer can be a total hassle because of them. I hope for fixes for this in the future.

Besides that, good show Bioware! I look forward to the next one in like... four years or so?

Bioware learned and listened after the mass effect 3 debacle.

-They went back to their roots. DAI is a direct ®evolution from what mass effect 1 and DAO were . There has been a lot of critisicm on the new battle system but I think it's overreactions. Tactical is there (minus the excessive strategy slots which took TOOO much time to handle) while there is an action oriented gameplay as well. I think they indeed made it more practical and let the player concetrate at the story which is bioware's strong suit.

-The game has a lot of bugs but they can be forgiven. It was a huuuge project. Some patches here and there will fix the problems.

See bioware? Fans are forgiving on the little things as long as the game delivers the basics.

*Now Imagine if mass effect 3 was released last year instead of 2012. It would be the greatest game ever made. :(

Do explain this to me please. That lack of fear of? what does that mean? I'm not sure about nudity in this game, I've not reached that far but there wasn't that much nudity in Origins, and compared to The Witcher type of nudity, Origins was childsplay. I don't mind nudity at all, I welcome it in a mature game. So what are you trying to say, Inquisition has more or has less nudity than the previous games? I haven't the slighest clue what you mean by scandal either.

About blood, Origins had WAY more blood, violence was one of the biggest themes of dragon age, and I loved that they made bood pretty evident in the game, even the Bioware symbol and the game title were written in blood. This game has a lot less, but still has some.

1) The tactics system taking too long is your opinion. I really don't see how it takes long to assign a few slots. But you didn't have to use that system and it was there if you did. Everyone wins.

2) Why do people still insist that story is Bioware's strong suit? That may have been their history, but after ME2, DA2, and ME3,  their recent track record isn't good.

Even though i enjoyed DAI i still got the feeling that it was more MMO like SWTOR. I enjoyed the combat and action but i believe that bioware need to take one step back and focus on the story more than the actuall gameplay.

they have now the combat gameplay ready, plz dont focus on experiment further as they did in DA2. Story must come first this time and in larger extent.

Don't get me wrong, I'm having quite a bit of fun. I've just reached Val Royeaux for the first time and just finished explored the Fog Mire (which was way more interesting than the Hinterlands).
