Fun, like "immersion", "gameplay" and co, is naturally subjective.  So are reasons as to why someone finds something fun / not fun.

It's perfectly valid that someone finds the lack of logic a bad thing that breaks his immersion/fun/whatever factor. People, myself included, who hate level scaling hate it for various reasons; one of those is certainly logic.

That said, it's a topic about a MOD that eliminates level scaling. The topic is not about fans of level scaling and their explanations why they hate the lack of level scaling. It would be like going in a topic about a mod for long hairstyles and starting a diatribe about why short hairstyles are better. Thanks for understanding. :)

DA:O has plenty of worse incorrect logic then the level scaling. which worked fine and wasn't as enoying as Oblivion. The loot scaling on other hand was boring or the fact that you got illogical loot. if you have random or scaling in the game you must restrict them or it will ruin the game. i think the game opponent scaling was fine while some abilities where overpowered making some encounters alot easier on low level then high. (scattershot and denerim city guards)

So your logic here is: If one genlock is weak, then other genlocs must be weak too. So if a human in the game is weak, then all other humans must be weak too?

The mod is trying to give the player the feeling of progression, not making the game any more realistic or logical.

EDIT: Or actually you're being logical, but the question is "does it make any sense?"

No, my logic is: If this genlock is weak/strong relative to other genlocks I've met, there should be a rason for that.  If that reason is my level, then the world is nonsensical.

People with the approach "I want to be able to destroy everything NAU!!" will naturally prefer level scaled games. 
Although, there's nothing more gratifying than earning your power the hard way and later destroying things that were a nightmare before.


There's also the role-playing aspect of level scaling. If "Marcus" is so and so and has a set personality, I'd expect him to have a set power level as well. If the "fearsome warrior Marcus" can be level 8, 9, 10, 11.... 18; then he's not a believable character. He's something artificial whose sole purpose is to cater my level.

Right.  Level-scaling is incompatible with verisimilitude.
