I want to play as a dwarf but I also want to have a romance, I know I'm allowed to do that, but Dwarf romances were kinda awkward in DAO (suddenly growing several feet during a kiss, etc). So I'm wondering if anyone has done a dwarf romance and if so did it look awkward like DAO? Please no spoilers.

I play a 6 foot 9 Qunari Amazon.   She literally towers over anyone I might want to romance save Iron Bull, and I'm not going to be typical on a Qunari/Qunari romance.

My (female) dwarf PC has shared a kiss with Blackwall, and it didn't have the awkwardness from Origins.  He gracefully bent over to kiss her, so it's much better than it was before.  I hope that helps.

No worries, glad I could ease your mind.  I have not experienced any of the sex scenes with her yet, but the kiss was well done.

Well, I got a screenshot of one of the kisses between Bull and my Cadash.  I thought it looked alright and he bends over gracefully like in other romance scenes where it doesn't look strained or awkward.  Reminds me a bit of my husband and I; he's 6'5" and I'm 5'4" :

I don't remember the dwarves growing several feet to kiss back in Origins.

 

Seriously, some of these people act as if there's no such thing as a woman who goes up to a man's shoulders in real life. They wouldn't even be classified as "dwarves" either by the way we classify them in real life.

It's a lot better than DAO, although not perfect. There's one time where she seems to "grow" during Blackwall's romance is when the camera focuses on the feet, then their faces, back to the feet, and then faces again. I'm not sure how they could have worked around this since it's pretty plot specific. Other than that, I thought they fit together pretty well overall.

I wish it wasn't the case but sadly I'll have to deal with the fact my Qunari will look like a midget at one part of the romance with Dorian, while crushing his own beard inside his clothes with an odd animation glitch.

I've been wanting to try out the IB romance on Cadash, too, and your screenshot is definitely giving me the nudge forward. My Aeducan import is for Blackwall, my Brosca import is for Iron Bull. (I did see the IB/dwarf romance on youtube and I had tears streaming down my face in some of the scenes. At least they take the height differences by the horns and just own it.)

Dwarves in Origins came up to about chest level on humans (elves came up to roughly shoulder level) but with Alistair and a dwarf warden for example, when they kissed they were eye to eye without him bending down or anything. It always made me laugh a little imagining she was standing on a box for that scene. In DA:I the taller character actually bends down and the shorter one reaches up.

As 6'4 250 pound American Male i  find it  pretty cool when i see short guys with tall chicks this dude was like 5'3 and his wife was all most my height    gotta respect his game beisdes height should not matter you all  line up when your laying down
