So you trust the words of angry and possibly trolling "gamers" over your own eyes and ears?

Okay.

I see so its all a conspiracy - obviously there are no people on this planet that think this game isnt the greatest game of all times without any flaws ...

I really dont understand why this Bioware-Forum is so full of people who will act rather agressive whenver any criticism is mentioned.

I've read dozens and dozens of gamer reviews on this game and it seems to be the majority of gamers display on the PC I think this game is total garbage! I am so so glad that I did not pre order or buy this game! With DAO I like how you had a couple of different options for camera view I like how you could zoom out completely and get a birds eye view. But from what I've heard you cannot even do that indoors or even play that type of style which would make this an action RPG which would not even compare to the other two games of this franchise. and for the record I really didn't care for DA2 IMHO along with a lot of others DA2 was a dumbed down console version of the original.I for one will not be buying this game and I will wait for it to come down in price to maybe $20 or maybe I'll just pirate it. yes I know its not good to pirate I agree but when developers make a cluster $@#! like this they deserve to have their matei pre-ordered the Witcher i pre-ordered the Witcher 3! Because those developers know how to please their fans even though the second was still not as good as the first but gamers can takea little bit of bad with the extreme amount of great

Wow!! Looks like my friend was right. Marlon Brando's helper monkey HAS learned to type.

Well in this case the OP was basically saying that he is choosing to ONLY believe the negative reviews and opinions. Despite the majority of people enjoying the game.

Such a stance is obviously going to receive ridicule.

So it has less to do with people being unable to accept criticism and more to do with people choosing to not take such a person or viewpoint seriously.

That you dont have the issues PC-Players have with the controls?

I dont think its a fantastic game - its not a bad game either - but it simply is a game for a specific type of player. Depending on if you are that type of gamer you will either like it or not like it.

Also i dont see how people can like the combat especially on PC. The only way i see combat as at least somewhat not an utter mess - is when playing on easy settings - which kind of makes the problems go away since tactical playing doesnt matter.

The combat is kinda weird at times. I find tactical camera awkward to use because I have to press Select, also the game suffers slowdown at times and occasionally freezes and the animations are wonky. Also I have trouble targeting and my rogue sometimes leaps in strange directions. Isn't tac-cam mouse wheel on PC? Sounds far more intuitive to me. I haven't played above normal yet, so I might change my mind when I do my Nightmare run.

My point was basically that I was playing on a really out-of-date system. The game is poorly optimised, often janky, and the characters frequently look abysmal. Despite these problems, it's still an amazing game and one I don't regret paying full price for for a moment.

is the game perfect? no its not.

is the game a da:o clone? no its not.

can you play it chess mode? no, but the tactical view is totally usable with m&kb you just need a bit to get used to it, its far from unplayable its just not a da:o clone. and maybe it will be improved.

is the menue for consoles? surely yes, but its not the worst. skyrim had a much more clunky with less overview before it was improved with mods. and the interface is likely improved in the future.

does it have filler content? yes, but big parts of it are optional and the world is HUUUUGE

will you have crashes? hard to say, but i would think your chances with nvidea and directx are higher for it as you use amd with mantle. had only 4 crashes in many many hours

is it buggy? yes, for me just a few sidequests and ai crashes but nothing important, but it looks like it can go the other way

is it less tactical? no its just different. in higher difficulties you will have a lot to do on the tactical side, the only downside of it is the ai is sometimes a little weird and there is a lack of indirect controlling your party (tactic orders), hope this will be improved

is the story bad? definitly no, great presentation, great voice actors, great locations, epic story.

is the game bad? hidden under a few flaws (when you got no crashing problems) there is a diamond of a game, it is big, it is beautiful, it has a lot of choices, it has a great story and the combination of it is epic.

i bet half of the player or more moaning about the game didnt played it more than 10-15 hours (which is just scratching the surface) or just wanted a da:o in new graphics.

Quadphonics I really think you should try this game. I'm playing on pc and I haven't found the controls to be an issue. I'm confused as to the problems others are having, it plays for me pretty much like most games on default settings do. Maybe its cause I'm playing as mage so I'm always back from the action a  little...

I was worried too when I read others peoples reviews but when I started playing I just loved it. It has something for everyone I think, beautiful graphics (if your pc can handle it, mine stutters a little at times) the characters are great, the story is lovely...so much to do and see, the crafting for is easy-peasy and fun.

I really really recommend this game to any rpg fan out there, its really great fun for me. I honestly don't regret a penny of what I spent on it. ( I loved DA Origins but not so much DA2 btw)

I'm not finished yet but I have plans for another load of play-throughs, Im at the last third of the game I think, 68 hours in.

Please try for yourself. Its been for me a wonderful, exciting and engrossing time! I have been rushing home from work every day excited to play it, a long time since I had a game that gave me that buzz. :D

I've read dozens and dozens of gamer reviews on this game and it seems to be the majority of gamers display on the PC I think this game is total garbage!

-------

Snip

Dozens and dozens? Hmm... let's see. Dozens tells me more than 1 ( dozen = 12). Therefore dozens is at least (2 x 12)  = 24. But, dozens and dozens tells us (2 x 12) + (2 x 12) = (4 x 12), At minimum, then, you read 48 reviews. WOW! I strongly suspect you are well educated. Forty eight means you must have read them in English and Other language publications.

Interesting, though, another thread mentioned that these (Englisg written) review publications assigned a game score between 8.0 and 10). I say, ten,  because one of them gave a score of 5/5. More interesting is the fact that all of the first 10-12 English reviews were made from playing on the consoles. Imagine reading the Kaffufle from PC Gamers. How could they ignore the PC Platform!

"I've read dozens and dozens of gamer reviews on this game and it seems to be the majority of gamers display on the PC I think this game is total garbage! .."

Grammatical skills aside, there is a concerned lack of contexual facts, that us dear readers really want to know from "..I think ...". After, all, your view is totally opposite those found in the magazine reviews made by writers who actually played the game.

My one and only question  is this. Why are you even here?

Which is what sane people do? If people are not having fun within the first few hours - why should they continue gaming? Or should i call it trying hard to like it?

A game either is fun from the start or at least after a short period of time - or people will naturally stop playing it.

reading the reviews of people who dont know how to adapt and fix issues that are easily remedied.  Trusting the words of people who have likely not finished the game before storming off to write a knee jerk review.

The people at the other end of the spectrum haven't bothered writing these words because they are using that time to play. the. game.

Can the arguments get any worse - another awful argument. The silent majority - i see - obviously on your side.

fix issues? - okay how do you fix cutscene stutter? bad pc-controls? bad AI?

Thanks  ...

It's actually illegal to pirate it. It's not just shady morality. Bad attempt at trolling is bad.

basically yes, still you are not in the position to judge a game just because you've seen only 10% or less, especially when its the kind of game that unfolds itself while playing it as a whole. and sorry people stating the game is UNPLAYABLE with mouse and keyboard must be mental restricted because i PLAY it all the time(which doesnt mean there is a lot which can and should be improved)

I get what you are saying, but in cases like this where the games content and quality is spread out over such a long period you can't jusdge it after a fews hours played. The game does not even show you its title screen until at least an hour in. The game does not hit its stride until you are around level 10-13 imo.

If you insist on judging such a large game from such a small sample size, then you really have no right to be upset when someone overlooks or disregards your opinion.

You would not judge a movie after 15 mins and you should not do the same for a game.

When people say it's "unplayable" they mean that it's so disagreeable that it destroys their enjoyment of the game. They don't mean that it's literally not possible, they just mean they find it unbearable to have to do so; that's an entirely valid expression of their experience. You might be find with M&K, but based on all the comments both here on the forums and at other sites, there clearly a lot of people (myself included) who are very unhappy with the state of the PC controls.

the problem here is that they just refuse to get used to it. sure a game should be accessable from the beginning (that because i'm saying things should be improved) but when they quit a 100 hour game because of something they need an hour or two to get used to it its not only the fault of the game. when i play an mmo i have to learn the controls first, when i play a fps i have to learn the controls first when i play a tbs or rts i have to learn the controls first, its not a big deal. just because its dragon age there is no need to click to move outside of tactical view and there it works, its just the unwillingness to break old habits

why are you talking about 4chan? you don't talk about 4chan, ever. the very fact that you don't know this rule leads me to believe you are highly ignorant yet think you've stumbled upon some sort of pocket of wisdom... you can't summarize 4chan in a few lines of text, a handful of quips... you just can't do it

Since when has that been a rule?

How do you explain a blind man how the color red looks like?

Can this blind man pass his knowledge on to others?

What? I mean... What?

Totally not true... Personally (and like many here) I have really tried, but after 20+ hours although I am managing to play, I am just not enjoying it because of these absurd PC controls. It is not a question of adapting, I played over 200 hours on DAO and had a blast every second from the very start.

I've said this in another post and I'll say it here too because it invalidates that opinion. This is the 3rd game in a series. By the third game in a series you should have the controls pretty much set in stone, maybe a new feature here or there, but NO one recreates the entire control scheme and expects people to play it. There's a reason no one does this kinda thing.

and that exactly the problem, i played da:o only two times and dont expect da:i to be the same as da:o. the tactic mode works its just not the same as da:o and need a little overwork to be more intuitive. get rid of the top down view and you will be fine
