When I went looking for this information a few days ago I couldn't find anything conclusive, so I decided to make this simple topic to help out anyone who might be having trouble crafting or finding these resources. I have not found any Merchants who sell these items, they must be farmed.

The class restriction material ONLY WORKS in the primary slot, which is why there are 3 types of crafting materials that remove this restriction.

Dales Loden Wool (Cloth) Silverite (Metal) and Snoufleur Skin (Leather). All 3 can be found in Emprise Du Lion which is available after Skyhold.

Red Templars drop Dales Loden Wool and can be found all over the map.

Silverite is an Ore that can be mined near the Highgrove Camp to the West of the map.

Snoufleur Skin is dropped by Snoufleur's, who can be found on the frozen river near the first camp.

I didn't know these materials could be used for that, will try it now. But just as an aside for anyone looking for Silverite: try going to the broken bridge in Emprise Du Leon, getting the war table request to repair the bridge, then going to the newly unlocked zone there with the dragons. Silverite is literally... Everywhere. I went there and did some dragon hunting, checked my inventory and I have exactly 200 pieces of Silverite (202 including masterwork Fade-touched Silverite). There are lumps everywhere which yield 3-8 pieces each, and even some pretty Dawnstone as well~

Stupid question: We use one of those ingredients on the primary slot and it will automatically remove the class restriction? Or do those ingredients have to be combined somehow to be added to the singular primary slot?

Thank you~

Yes, you use the materials in the primary slot, Silverite for Heavy armor, Snoufler for Medium armor, and Dales Laden Wool for Light armor.  Honestly, given the rest of the stats you can get for utility slots on the gear, aside from things like maybe wanting high Cunning on a Reaver, I don't get the appeal of removing the class restrictions personally.

I think one of the three must be used in the primary slot to remove the class restriciton. The metal to remove warrior class restriciton, the cloth for mage class restriction and finally the leather for rogue class restriction.

I would remove the class restriction for the looks, mostly. Take the Dalish warrior armor for example; It's well fitting for a rogue and as long as you play on a lower difficulty the stats don't matter too much.

If you put Legion of the Dead on a mage, would this mage move slower, loose stamina etc?
Is there's a minus?

No. There is no fatigue penalty like there is in DAO

I am glad that one of the earliest pieces of info gleaned about Inquisition was that these crafting items allowed you to wear whatever you wanted to, regardless of class.

My female dalish archer wears the Keeper Robes & Inquisitors Helmet (she sort of looks like a dalish ninja). I have Varric wearing the Legion of the Dead armor too. All thanks to these fortunate crafting acquisitions. I almost feel bad for the snoufleur, since I killed bunches of those bloated beasties.

What I don't understand is that, yes you can remove class restriction on armors by using forementioned matierals but it doesnt seem to work on arm and leg upgrades. I'm trying to get this look:

According to the system I can remove class restrictions on anything yet I still can't put those mage shoulders on any battlemaster coats/mails/whatever.

I have a farming rutine in Emprise du Lion:

I start hunting snofleurs on the lake until I have at least two fade touched with "On Hit: Heal 1% of Maximum Health" (I don't actually know the frequency of the spawn, but if I get 3800 snofleur skins 6 of them will be fade touched. That makes 1 fade touched for approx. 635 skins).

During my hunt on the lake I collect Everite (two locations), Dawnstone (5 or more locations) and Great Bear Hide (approx. 3 bears spawning during 30 minutes).

Getting bored I teleport to the second camp at the cave entrance and head up to the third camp. I collect Silverite and Dawnstone on my way.

From camp 3 I continue to the area where you get the Shrine of Sulevin quest. There's normally 5 Silverite spots here + 1 Everite.
Onwards to the 4th camp (the one with the huge chains) and find 2 Silverite and 4 Everite on the left side of the cliffs.
Empty? Ok, then I go back to hunt snofleurs on the lake for a while and take the tour again.

A bit boring I admit, but in the end I have so much crafting material I can craft what ever I want and also have plenty for mistakes and experiments.

For me it's purely aesthetics, I really like one of the mage armours, and role playing my character. There is too much metal on the rogue armours, and that would be too noisy so my character goes for mainly leather stuff, and hunter armour looks a bit silly on an elf... like some kind of gay pirate outfit.

Thanks for this OP.

I always put rogue armor on everyone, then spec them out with every possible on-crit ability.

It's cheaper early-game, because I only have to buy one schematic, and I rely on rogues for DPS anyway, so I'm ok with sacrificing mage and warrior DPS in return for spamming their on-crit utilities. For example, Solas will definitely have Flashpoint up every 10 seconds. Combined with his wheeeee infinite manaaaaaa rift magic abilities, he's a neverending fountain of crowd control and combo primers.

Sure, he does pants damage by himself. But thanks to his setup, Cole, Sera, and Lavellan can pretty much leap from one detonation to the next.

Does the Silverite in the main slot remove the Race Restrictions?  Legion of the Dead says Dwarf Trained only and my guy is Human.  Thanks.

.
No, you can't remove the race restriction. You'll need Cheat Engine or a mod for this.

Yep, boosting crit chance via medium armor is about the only reason I can think of to remove class restrictions.

No, even with class restriction removed, it is light, medium or heavy armor and, requires arms and legs appropriate to that category of armor.

Re: Legion of the Dead armor for your mage... yeah, it's a warrior-only set, but it's also a dwarf set. You can remove whatever class restrictions you want, but that won't remove the racial restriction.
