So should I back off playing this game for now?

(Or is the Xbox version unaffected? Cuz that would be godly)

The party banter thing i did experience actually. It was bipolar, they talked every 5 mins then once not for hours.

I'm about 25 hours in on the PS4 and I got my very first bug...a Present for Bianca on the War Table doesn't complete. Other than that, its safe to play. Bugs like this will most likely be fixed in the next patch and it doesn't stop the game from moving forward.

Consoles are nowhere near as affected by bugs as PC is. Had not one of those bugs or the rest of them, just finished my playthrough today on the One. Not saying its impossible to have those bugs, it just seems far less likely.

I disagree, I've been on the PC and I can't really say I've encountered a single bug yet having done two playthroughs. Especially in romance scenes, where console players can't seem to catch a break at all. The party banter "issue" has been confirmed to be working as intended. It seems to be based largely on who is in your party as well as your location.

Heh, with the amount of people that went crazy on the forum with the PC bugs, its hard to remember its usually a minority

Indeed, except for the party banter everything works fine with me on PC.

It certainly is interesting though. The PC, unlike consoles, introduces a wide range of variables given that everyone's is unique. I've seen people on PCs with better rigs than mine complain of constant CTDs, or bugs that I've never experienced on my moderate/high machine.

I didn't get a whole lot of banter my first playthrough, but my second certainly wasn't lacking.

I have the Xbox One version, and I haven't encountered any major bugs.

I'm about 50 hours into the game on Xbox One.
I am having such a good time - it is amazing.
Bugs have ben very rare.
Toggling the gender a couple of times at the start is supposed to a avoid the accent glitch (though it didn't happen to me).
Talk to Varric in Haven to validate your world state before pressing on (it worked first time for me).
From what I read, the Xbox One may well be the most stable platform to play.
banter is occasional - it's a big game.

I play on PC and have encountered almost no bugs.
My first character was male but thought of as female, and also seemed to change from Mage to Rogue during the prologue. I restarted and swapped the cards between male / female a few times which sorted that problem. Character creation light made my char look good, but not quite so good after Haven. However i just tell myself he was affected by the magic of the rift which melted his face and affected his hair.
Most graphics options on Ultra except MSAA which is off. No issues other than the occasional half second freeze when i'm in Haven.
Controls took a little getting used to and I remapped most of them.
Game looks beautiful and i'm enjoying most of it.

That quick freeze seems to be a some sort of loading thing, since it happens, at least to me, every time I enter Haven from the world map and always in the same spot.

I'm getting my Xbox One next week and Inquisition comes with it. I'm really excited to play it but I've been hearing about party banter glitches and people thinking I'm a chick or my accent changing and I'm just wondering whether I should just wait for a patch? I want my first time playing this to be amazing.

I have the Xbox One version and have had zero problems. Any glitches are very minor (like sound cutting out - which has happened to me all of twice in 65 hours). Like others have said, it's the PC version that has issues, but you'll have no problems on the console. Skyrim was easily tenfold worse than this.

Well, the bugs aren't universal by any means. Probably well over a 100 hours total played now on PC and other than one CTD, I have had no other bugs or performance issues. Some of the choices from the keep either are not importing correctly, or are NOT saved specific to each character in the game.

I'm about 50 hrs in, the only glitch I have come across is Redcliffe, there is a sound bug there. But exit out close application and restart and it goes away. PS4
