Freddie Prinze, Jr. did a great Vega, but his Iron Bull is straight up awful, IMO

I mean in that unlike quarian and Turians they dont sound "different"
So why must non-humans always sound like humans? ![]()

Well. Living on the same planet
Must be a common ancestor or something. Seeing as human dwarves and elves can interbreed

I agree so, so much.
First time Bull talked I was like "what the heck?!"
Going on only comparing him to Sten and the Arishok, Bull talks way too casually, way too much and his voice is just way too different, it doesn't fit a Qunari (or a Ben Hassrath or whatever, too many Qunari terms).
Also, Prinze goes back and forth between speaking naturally, like for Vega, and his Bull voice a lot.

You know, before I got my hands on the game, I thought he sounded terrible in all the trailers and promotional material.
But in game, I got used to him and now I find myself impersonating him a lot. He's different, but his voice isn't that odd. I think it works, actually.

Sorry, I gotta disagree, Bull's awsome. It's also kinda funny, he's totally a capital "S" - SL**!, and he KNOWS what you need. ![]()

His voice was odd to me in the beginning, but overtime I have grown to like it and now it fits IB.

I love it
same as with Vega, it I feel like he's having a blast with the roles Bioware has been given him

I'm just happy I got to hear the line from the trailer of FPJ talking about "weird ass poison". It happens if you have him, Cole and Solas together in your group.

He sounded great as Vega, but Iron Bull...not so much. It's the worst voice acting I've heard from a BioWare game lately. It's one of the reasons it's hard for me to take IB seriously. His voice + IB = comedy.

True, but the Thedosian races have a much wider variation in anatomy than humans have among themselves on Earth.

We've only ever got to know Sten and the Arishok, and that's all we knew about the Qunari's personality. I'm pretty sure they aren't all the same. You also have those who reject the Qun , Tal'Vashoth. Do they act like them also?
I think it's great to see that some of them do have a personality! The Qun doesn't require them to be dull.

Not all big huge guys sound like a bass filter was applied to them. I think his voice work is great.
That said I'm not using Iron Bull, so maybe his quests suck or something. I wouldn't know.

This.
I was completely indifferent to James but he nailed it as Bull.
Although I think it helped that Bull is a far more interesting character.

It is because you quickly stereotyped bull(and the qunari) and put him in a box.He is actually far more intelligent than you might think he is,and qunari are not all like sten and the arishok(those guys are military). In fact the qunari in stens fade dream have similar personalities to The Iron Bull.

I think he's a fantastic character and the voice just fits. Out of the new characters he's definitely my favorite. I didn't particularly liked him before I got the game but I warmed up to him so fast he went from a planned romance for my third play through, to the very first. I haven't regretted it for one moment ![]()

Spoiler
Heh, I definitely don't mind the role of the Inquisitor in this XD I can't really see it happen the other way around with an elf anyway, Bull could snap him in half like a tooth pick.

I think he was miscast. Don't get me wrong, Bull is a great character with great lines, and Freddie Prinze Jr. is a great voice actor, I just don't think the two were really meant for each other. The entire time I'm listening to him I just get the sense that I'm listening to not-a-huge-guy attempting to do a huge guy's voice and it's just kind of weird.

I didn't care about Vega at all, he was just there... Iron Bull, on the other hand, is a great character, and Freddie did a fine job with his voice.
