I remember Bioware mentioning the ability to customize the various strongholds and keeps you capture/obtain in DAI, and they even posted pictures of these.  You could customize them for espionage, trade, etc...

I've captured/obtained all the strongholds and keeps, but there has been no option made available when it comes to customizing these.  I have marked every quarry and logging site, and these haven't really meant anything because I've seen zero improvements.

Was the ability to customize these cut without any sort of announcement?  It was one of the things I was most looking forward to and now...I'm just feeling disappointed.

I was wondering this and why no one had mentioned it. I've seen the pictures of the 'customizable' strongholds and spent a while running around my keeps looking for an option - or doing keep related quests hoping it would change.

I think they simply abandoned the idea and didn't mention it to anyone.

From what I've heard, apparenlty the save the town or save the fort thing they shown in a gameplay video was also removed also without any mention. I don't mind all that much that these got removed, but it would have been nice to know since some of us have been looking for stuff that is no longer there.

It does appear to have been removed without mention, yeah. Unfortunate. But we may have gotten some of the game's best features in their place for all we know.

I believe this will be an added feature through the DLC's to come. Don't think they had time to implement everything into it before launch with out creating more bugs, or maybe they just wanted to have something to hold back a bit to keep us playing when it comes out.,

It's worth noting, too, that development on this game was remarkably open compared with several previous titles. We were let in on a lot more gameplay content than I would call "the BioWare norm." Which was neat. But there are valid reasons many developers don't like to show their hands so much. This is one of them. Stuff changes... lots.

They pushed this game back by more then a year.Don't tell me they didnt have time. Not when they showed us all how we could "customization everything".

I understand your concern. I don't know what you do for a living, myself I am a private contractor for building and renovations. I don't usually take on big projects due to the fact that you never know what kind of things you could run into. Sorry you might be offended by my sticking up for them, but after doing some Big Job's myself and agreeing to do certain things with the client, once you get to those Certain things you didn't realize so and so would cost you more because so and so made a mess of things and you had to start over with production on certain area's so it can be fixed to work properly. I can see why such a big project as this using the new Frostbite engine which was never intended for an Open world RPG could come across Many Major projects they never anticipated. I do not agree with not Finishing what was agreed on, but sometimes things need to be postponed until further notice.

It would be nice if Bio ware would let us know a few things like what kind of things to be expecting in the Upcoming DLC and when these items they promised such as customization will be implemented. It's only a show of respect to keep your clients(us the consumers) up to date on these matters.

Trust me I understand what kind of time and energy goes into something like this. My wife does this kind of work on a small scale which is why she was ok with me spending 70 bucks on it. I really hope your right that they will be adding a lot of DLCs like back in DOA and I would love an expansion.

Hey Jaizek could you tell me if you ever ran into that freak of a pale demon with 4 arms?  I'm just wondering because I sure never did and it was in one of the newer videos they put out.

I am with you on this, I really hope the DLC even if I have to pay $100 for each one, works out the kinks and creaks on the PC version with all the limitations and horrendous Tactic's set up. Playing on Nightmare is not even a Nightmare, It's a Mental suicide. I love the challenge but when you assign Tactic's on what spell to use more and then that makes it too complex for them that they end up just standing there auto attacking so every skill you have to go through F2 key 4, F3 key 2, F key 6, F1 Key 2 unpause, let them do it, Pause F2 key 5, FU get my drift. so annoying. They just ruined the tactics and nightmare mode for me. I'm madly in love with this game so much that all these game breaking bugs that have been happening to me would make me Rage quit and never pick it up, but since there are soooooooooooo many amazing things and soooooooooo much potential to be even more amazing I keep playing it. Like the Hot wife that cheated on you 6 times but you love her still, you don't trust her but you just hope her new DLC will fix all her issues..... lol

Yea I did, it's is a boss fight. He's pretty epic to be honest. Don't want to spoil it for you but recruit the templars on next play through, not the mages. War Table quest In Hushed Whispers.

I was wondering the same thing... about strongholds and customization...

Not that the game lacks content, but I remember this being mentioned by journalists and I was started to think I had missed something.

It bothers me greatly that this major feature seems to be missing--and without a word from BioWare. We have to stop cutting developers and publishers slack when they say something and don't follow through: they get away with this bait-and-switch behavior because we continue to accept it. Once you say something, you should commit; to do anything less is to be untrustworthy--realities of software development be damned. It's not like we didn't see this feature in action.

This.

My biggest beef is that the areas do not change as much as they let on. I mean at least renovate the damn stronghold! My men are standing insude a ruin in freezing weather and it is supposed to be the center of the trading and diplomatic arm of the organization. How can they gather support when they do not even have a roof over their heads?

Plus, I think they will omit this from future DLCs (at least the choice part) because our keeps are already assigned to a specific area, so it'd lock out those who have completed the game. It'd be like adding a 3rd option for ruler in the landsmeet, makes no sense.

Notice this too and fond it kind strange that the keeps did not even got attacked, I was even expecting that the last battle was more about what keep were more prepare or something and the villages close to it. So in a way I had to chose who to save, in the end nothing of that happened kinda disappointing. Actually the ending seemed rush overall.

So you're advocating adding paid DLC for features which were advertised to ship with the game? That's only encouraging them, and reinforcing the notion that the gaming community are a crowd of idiots who'll pay for anything at all. If they say "X feature will be included", then they don't include it, that last thing you should do is say "Oh, I'll pay you $100 for that feature" when what you should be saying is "You sold me a product under false pretences, I'll be returning your product to the retailer for a full refund and filing a motion for false advertising on your part".

I don't need to say anything you tell me to say. That is your opinion. I myself Being a private contractor Hate when clients start grinning and groaning about how good of a job I did but they still feel its not worth the Price I quoted them a month before I started it. It's the people like you who go on about every Little thing that screws up the gaming community. Give them some slack, It's THEIR

BIGGEST PROJECT TO DATE.

I agree it sucks to be Missing some of the content that was Advertised but Honestly this is 2014(almost 2015) Get with the flippen times dood. These are money making Company's, stop trying to do what they do by making money for the Employee's doing all this work for 4-5 year+ more with all the DLC they will be producing. Stop pirating music and stop stealing from everyone in your life. YOU bought the game, Installed the game, played the game and Now you want them to give your stinking money back? GTFO dood. Seriously. GTFO incase you didn't catch it the first time. I work hard to play hard. Try it sometime and take the tongue back into your mouth and stop crying for a refund.

Apologizing on Bioware's behalf and engaging and straw-man and ad hominem arguments.

Yes, DAI was a very ambitious project. That does not preclude it from criticism, nor mitigate the failings of it. Many features which were prominently displayed in the advertisements are conspicuously absent. These include keep customization, significant development of Skyhold, many cosmetic features for player characters. If you, as a private contractor, quoted a price for a four bedroom house with two and half baths and a three car garage, but then later only completed three bedrooms, one bath, a two car garage, and didn't bother to finish sealing the windows and left out a few doors..THEY WOULD DRAG YOUR ASS TO COURT! I don't know what kind of contracted you do, but the point remains.

I agree with you as I wouldn't leave the job like that, I would re discuss the situation with the Owners as new cost and development issues can arise. The worst thing Bioware is doing right now, is not holding back the content, but They are Not speaking out and letting anyone know why such and such was advertised but not included. At least if they explained and kept everyone in the loop with the game they purchased. That is their biggest fault at this time. Still doesn't give anyone a reason to play the game whether it's 20 mins or 4 years to ask for a refund.

BIGGEST PROJECT TO DATE.

Yeah... fan-boing( boiing, get it?) doesn't help. First off, they're a grown-up company, they can take care of themselves. Second... so what if it's their biggest project? That absolves them of criticism somehow? Especially when things advertised did not end up in the game? That's one big no-no.

I have a way better idea: everything they say before the game's actually released, you take with a pinch of salt.

You're advocating for a state of affairs in which developers and publishers are not held accountable for the things they say. No thank you. We, as a community of consumers, need to stand up for ourselves and demand better treatment by the people asking for our money.
