With the comments of old cory saying the Qunari are a mistake, the way Tal-Vasoth act, and the extremely label placing focus qunari society is, some things can be imagined.
The Qunari were a forcibly created race of simple warriors to be a private army of some sort. It explains their need for for order/orders, a hierarchy, and 'knowing their place' to such a degree that they forsake creating original names and only use their titles. It also explains why Tal-Vasoth, or those who've turned away from the Qun are near blood thirsty savages most of the time, having denied their pre programmed purpose of existence. This is also suggested by Iron Bull saying 'the qunari don't look anything like the original Qunari, or Kossith I think the term is. Plus, considering the way that near all ancient lore of the game is set up to be HORRIBLY wrong at this point, what with the ancient elven gods actually existing and still existing, the golden city tainted prior to the mages arrival, and likely so on, the Qunari also getting their facts wrong, despite none even being there, is also very likely.
