Does that mean they've been "hardened"? By card I mean the card you click on when you're forming your party.

For example, Bull's card for me is him sitting on the ground covered in blood. It wasn't like that before. Dorian is now prancing on a pony, again, different from before.

Thoughts?

Their cards change depending on the outcome of their companion quests.  Since you can resolve those quests in different ways, the cards represent the outcome you chose.

I wonder if the card changing changes their dialogue or what they approve of.

Decisions you make have an effect on the state of mind represented on the card.  I've noticed changes for both Varric and Cole so far.  Varric's had two. :)

I think it's a very interesting indicator.  When you lose a companion-as I did based on some decisions I made in judgement-the card goes dark completely7, with an X.

For me the only ones who's cards didn't change are Seras' and Solas' even though they said hey saw me as friends >_>

Why does Dorian's look so sinister, when he's on his pony? His face is all dark and sickly, but as far as I know I solved his companion quest in the most beneficial manner (got him and his father talking again).

Only Dorian's card has changed for me so far (he's riding a horse).

The cards are related to companion-quests. Honestly, though, some of them are ugly. Cole and Vivienne both have really ugly ones in regular and after quest. Sera, Verric and Cassandra on the other hand look great before and after. Does anyone know why Bioware decided to go for this whole Tarot Card thing suddenly?

Cassandra's changed after her romance.

Varric's changed twice. One was after the Bianca quest, don't remember when the other one changed.

My wife got Iron Bull's to change after the romance.

Dorian's romance card is the most beautiful tarot card I've seen so far.

It's weird, but persevere because the next one is beautiful.

So far, Solas is the only card that remains unchanged for me. Varrick's card changed twice from the original.

Sera's changed after we pulled pranks together and hung out. The others came from personal quests.
