I struggle. Not because it's on nightmare, not because the game is hard, or because I can't adapt to it. no, I struggle because I spend half my time fighting my partys AI.

I refuse to rely on tactic-cam other than re position the ranged camera. I play Dragon Age as a action game/RPG, not as a tactical-overhead-game.

Now, I got this little problem: I don't understand the AI at all! Here is a scenario:

Solas. Level 6.

Mana/Stamina Reserve: 30%

Target: Defend | Cassandra

Healing potion reserve: 2

Healing potion HP Threshold: 30%

Tactic:

Preffered: Barrier, Revival, Winter's Grasp

Normal: Mind Blast

What I am expecting to happen: Solas cast barrier and Winter grasp on CD. The Mana reserve would suggest he got enough mana as either is off cooldown.

What happens: Solas cast barrier as combat start. Then auto attacks with full mana bar for about 3-full-attacks, then maybe cast winter grasp.

Why? What? How?

Edit: Scrap that. he never cast anything but Barrier regardless of priority/tactic. Neither do Cassandra use any of her abilities. Er..

I also had another annoying issue with my level 12 Rogue earlier today. I engaged the dragon and everything went fine. I told everyone to attack the front leg, so I can focus on the back leg and get some flanking.

But Blackwall got another plan. He INSISTED to attack the dragons back leg no matter what. The dragon spins around, making it impossible for my short daggers to hit, and gets my ranged killed by making the dragon go all over the place. I tried every combination of Target behavior, but every time he did the same thing. Attacking the back leg.

What? Why?

What's going on? I can live with a limited tactical and behavior setup, but at least give me some efficient AI! if nothing else, let me hotkey my teams abilities to my key bindings, so I can set up my own shatter combos.

Without ranting too much: What can I do? On my Rogue and Mage it was fine that the AI is idiotic, minus fighting dragons. But on my warrior.. I rely on my teammate to set up combos and taunt off of me, or I get smashed. Is there some advanced-tactic/behavior setup that some of the DA:I guru got that can help?
