Hi All,

I've really been enjoying this game but one major nuisance I've had is very frequent video stuttering during gameplay.  It seemed to happen at least once a minute, and it didn't seem to matter whether I was in a graphic-intensive situation (like combat) or not.  For the record, I've got an AMD FX-6300 3.5 Ghz CPU, an R9 280 GPU and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM.

All that changed this morning, however.  As far as I know, there have been no stealth patches, and I haven't updated my drivers in a couple of days.  One thing I did do, though, is disable all of the AMD/Raptr applications that were running in the background (including Gaming Evolved).  I can't say for certain that this is what fixed the problem, but I know of nothing else that has changed.

In any case, if any AMD users are having similar problems, you may want to consider disabling those utility applications.

this has been touted around ever since the game was released. Funny you haven't seen mention of it... Glad it solved some problems for you.

Nope, I didn't realize it, but thanks for confirming that this is what the problem was!

When playing through the prologue, cutscenes were downright painful to watch, with all the stuttering.  By Skyhold they were much better.  And I don't think I've even noticed it since.

That said, I'm not sure if the stuttering is getting better or I'm just getting used to it....

Apparently fraps is ok to run but yeh, disable everything including origins overlay ( I close steam as well just to be sure!)

you do not need fraps, just open the console and type this

perfoverlay.drawfps 1

This command will give you fps shown
