Is it possible to do this on Easy setting and just switch out when you specifically need a wall basher or a lock picker?

 

I do plan to play a KE.

for the most part absolutely, there are some missions that don't allow you to go back however so you will miss some locked loot.

 

end game and dragon hunting you will probably need to take +guard on all your crews outfits. but if your playing KE from what i've heard you could solo the game.

I've run with three mages and a tank a number of times, and my survivability always goes up.  But I do like to see what's behind all those doors and walls, so I tend to bring a variety.

Thanks!  You mean like dungeons?  If I knew in advance so I could deal with it that would be great.

can't really help you on that unfortunately.

4 mages will lack aggro management more than tank. Than again, it can probably be replaced by another management - crowd control.

As long as one of them is a Rift Mage you can even handle doors.

If you go KE you can do it on Knightmare... bring solas to bash locks. You won't be able to get the locks that need the perk but... meh.

On easy + normal any party composition will work.

I ran 3 mages and a rogue on Hard difficulty so yes, it is perfectly doable.
