Seems like I'm getting far more item drops from Perilous. Can anyone confirm;/deny?

I noticed the items drop more frequently in threatening than they do in routine, so I would assume that the item drops would increase again once you go up to perilous (yet to try).

I've pulled 5 items out of a routine run.  Honestly, I think it's just more RNG.  I had a few hours last weekend where I was sure they had started some sort of event since I was seeing item drops left and right while screwing around in routine.  Turns out it was just luck.

Of course I don't actually know one way or another.  I would love to see better/more frequent items drops out of threatening and perilous so that there were greater incentives to run the harder difficulties.

I did a perilous run once.  Got 3 or 4 items, all level 1.  Said screw it, not worth it.

It's obviously worth it for the EXP and gold though. Not sure if you get a higher rank from it, but people were saying the higher your rank is seems to trigger better gear.

There's a lot of placebo effects going on with ways to get good drops but, as far as anyone can tell, it's all RNG. All that's confirmed guaranteed in higher difficulties is more gold and more xp.

I ran several Perilous runs over Thanksgiving holiday and though I did see a lot of items drop, almost all of it was low level trash that I would just salvage. If I get a blue its generally a rune. I think if you going for efficiency then its better to just run threatening. All of my rare and unique gear came from bought chests anyhow.

I get items from chests in perilous almost everytime, if not everytime.  Its not placebo.  And when it comes to RNG loot, every single drop counts.

Problem is it takes longer than the easier difficulty and thus makes it less profitable.

Not necessarily.  I've played with teams who have had decently geared teams with two or three sub-20's with decent gear, work together and clear perilous in less than thirty minutes.  Between the jars giving roughly double gold and chests giving an item, along with ~75 gold, the rewards are worth farming perilous in my opinion.

The catch being you luck into (or form on the boards a decent team.  I can neary solo perilous with my AW, And I'm pretty sure a handful of other classes can do it just as efficiently... having a team just makes that much faster.

As much as that is true, why do we farm gear?

Perilious requires solid gear to do. You need upgraded armor and solid weapons.

So you should not really do peri difficulty for gear to begin with, you already got the gear when you head in.

And yes, for farming gear I believe threatening is best. Peri is for the fun, challenge and possibility to find very good gear.

I got Peri on farm and can carry most teams through, with several characters, You recieve loot from almost every chest, and almost every loot pieace is level 1.

Its borderline bugged in my opinion, cause not even on routine is it always very low level gear in the chests.

Its very rare you find a high level item on peri difficulty but it happens. Then again, you do recieve more items from chests, but its also much more difficult.

But its also ALOT more fun.

Perilious is for when everyone is geared 6 months from now and the other modes are too easy.  Heck i joined a routine before on the end boss and got 4 items.  It's all rng.

Perilious gives you more gold and exp.  Later down the road i assume geared players will just power level gf's since it's faster.

Perilous gives you 25% more gold than threatening, but has mobs with about 3x more hp and the mooks are much more violent.

Played 5 games on perilous yesterday, gives around 800g and 1-3 item a run.

Did not finish all the game :/

so yes it gives more items than other difficulties but still same crappy item.

still managed to get epic level 18 bow off large chest bought after 10 games or so

so now I have an epic level 18 and epic level 21 bow.

You base your whole conclusion on 5 games?!?! Someone needs to study the meaning of statistics and RNG...
