In regards to quality, not whether or not you wanted them in the game at all.
From what I've seen in my early impressions, kinda wish gay men had a Cullen or a Solas like romance. Haven't watched Sera's or Josie's yet. Dorian and Bull aren't bad, but...Dorian's a bit of the same 'coy flashy roguish' sort (like a less stabby mage Zevran if that makes sense), and Iron Bull is...nice, but a bit cheesy ('No one outside this room' part comes to mind')? I dunno, maybe I'm just picky or they aren't really my type. Feels like writers need to employ the Joss Whedon trick a bit here sometimes imo - write the characters not as female or gay or what have you, but as people first and foremost, but again, could just be me. Haven't progressed far in any of the romances myself yet, and I'm mostly going off what I've seen on Youtube, but I'd certainly like to hear people's thoughts on Dorian, Bull, Sera and Josephine's romances and how they were written.
Did enjoy the Dorian/Bull banter though. Kudos to Bioware on that bravery.
Thoughts on the LGBT romances in the game?

I liked them both. I particularly love what they did with Dorian's character, because while some of his comments and quips do border on stereotypical they managed to convey deeper meaning with his character and I particularly liked his personal quest where his father shows up. It finally feels like a sort of real representation rather than DAII's "everyone is bisexual". I thought his romance was really quite representative of male/male relationships in the real world, particularly when he's surprised (and happy) if the Inquisitor is after more than just something casual.
I also found a codex called "Sexuality in Thedas" that breaks down how it's looked upon in Ferelden, Orlais and Tevinter and it basically says no one cares unless you're a noble and you've yet to produce children. And if you have produced children, then no one cares ![]()
Super happy with the way they dealt with it.

Just a short question. What does LGBT stand for? Not familiar with the term (english is my second language).

Ah; it's an acronym for Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transexual. Basically, it means the non-Straight things.

Ahh cool. I learn something every day. Thanks for the explanation(s).
Kudos to Bioware for now shying away from it. And also for not making a huge deal of including it. Just keeping it as a natural part of the gameworld, is the best way to go about it, I think.

Deeply insulted that Sera, this obnoxious, unthinking, intentionally ignorant, overgrown 5 year old is the lesbian exclusive romance. Or that she's in the game at all really.
Dorian is awesome. I don't even like guys and I still flirt with him.

Honestly I think people are a bit too invested in these romances. Especially when they complain that there wasn't one to their liking and they had to choose one that wasn't as fulfilling as they thought. Is it so important to romance someone?
I always go into DA games with a role playing angle. I make up a persona for my character from the beginning and then if I happen to run into a person that I think is worth romancing, I go for it. None of the romance options in these games would most likely be something that I would be interested in real life, but my Hero of Ferelden wanted to know Leliana better. My Hawke's personality somewhat matched that of Isabela's and they hit it off. My Inquisitor didn't go into the game thinking that he'd find a partner somewhere along the way, but ended up with Dorian, because they seemed to make a great couple.
As a conclusion I think the romances in the game are fine and I hardly think Bioware needs to try and cater to everyone's preferences.

Josephine's is really cute!
I'm super angry about Sera, though. ONE f/f romance in the party and not only is she a terrible person, but her romance was awful- nothing but sex and awful jokes and no depth (the cookie scene was the closest we had, but without explanation? She's mad because no one made cookies for her? I expected it to go on and explain why Sera had a problem with elves, but nothing. She's just mad the lady was ashamed she didn't make cookies for her.) The storyline did not feel like it was written for f/f loving ladies in mind.
Her writer was a man probably didn't help the romance stop sucking tbh- not that men can't write decent f/f romance, but he did write Leliana's Song which was Evil Lesbians The DLC and helped write Paragon, which coincidentally also had Evil Lesbians. ![]()
We got super let down compared to Dorian, a couple of problems I had with it aside.

The only reason I think Sera was a poor choice for female-only romance option was because her character never develops, at least not in any noticeable way. She's the same from start to finish, where as everyone else evolves and grows as the story goes on, she stays very much static. And any attempts to reason with her or change her mind results in name-calling, yelling, and (if romancing) breaking up.
I can understand why people might be insulted that she was made the lesbian.

Marj and Leli are bisexual, but they were in a lesbian relationship (or f/f whatever you prefer).
Marjolaine being evil is no problem, but the only three canon f/f couples we have are super messed up (Marj and Leli, Branka and Hespith, Celene and Briala) and the two most screwed up ones of the bunch being written (or partly written by) by the one guy who now wrote a really subpar f/f romance is pretty suspicious.

Sera kind of has a sweet romance despite being Thedas' biggest troll. Though the romanc I wish for isn't in. I really liked Krem and it sucked he couldn't be romanced or flirted with. Big kudos to iron bull for being so protective of Krems right to be a man.
Agreed, Krem is an interesting and very beautiful character. Would have loved to have the option to flirt with him.

What about the Josephine romance?
The josephine romance is great, but that's not a canon romance. You can only get that if you specifically romance Josie as a woman. The canon s/s couples are extremely important because those are seen no matter what. And all three mandatory f/f couples being messed up is uncool.

In fairness, I don't think that every character should change. Stubbornness can be a defining characteristic.

What about the Josephine romance?
It's good for what it is, but, personally, I feel much more disconnected from it because she isn't a companion you take with you. Despite pretty much everyone disliking Sera, one of the highlights of her romance is listening to her tell them off when they bring it up in party banter. Especially Vivienne. That was amazing.

I'm satisfied with Sera as a romance, the only thing that angers me is that Sera is the only one that can get kicked out anytime you want and others don't, in case "she bothers them".
Others can be bothersome and yet they remain in your party.

I really don't think Sera or her romance are a problem. She's different. She isn't gorgeous or promiscuous, as far as I've seen. Her outfit, her hair, her childish face, and voice actor all make her adorable (she certainly looks interesting in her concept art, though, lol), which is different. A refreshing different.
Sera is immature, swears, makes sex jokes, and at times it seems like her romance is all about sex, but you can tell that she really cares about the Inquisitor if you romance her.
