I had a harder time with this guide then the last two games. Please feel free to recommned any changes.

DAI Role-play Guide for a Tevinter Magister Character

Race: Human

Gender: Doesn't matter

Class: Mage

Skyhold Design: Everything Tevinter Imperium

Religon: Old Gods

Recommended Party:

Varric (dwarven ally), Dorian (tevinter mage), and Blackwall *this also puts one of every class in a group so hidden areas aren't missed.

Recommended Mount:

Imperial Warmblood, a Tevinter Imperium horse that's for sale in Horsemaster Dennet's shop.

Crafting Suggestion:

When renaming crafted items, make sure to throw in words like Tevinter or Magister in the title to add to the role-play experience.

RP Tip: It is mentioned in the game that Tevinter is uncomfortable with the Inquisitor nicknamed the Herald of Andraste, so I recommend denying the title whenever possible in dialog. As an Old God worshipper deny worship of the maker. If you want to be Imperial Chantry, then it's ok to worship the maker.

Encourage Cullan to stop taking lyrium, you want the templars to become weaker like they are in Tevinter.

Tell Cassandra to not restart the Seekers.

Josephine will at some point ask your character if you wish to ally with Tevinter or Nevarra. The no-brainer answer is to chose to support Tevinter.

During Judgements, spare all of the tevinters. Servis, for example, can become a smugglar or an informant for the inquisition.

Choices:

Path to the Temple: Doesn't Matter

Iron Bull: From a Tevinter perspective it would be simple to not accept Iron Bull as a party member so don't recruit him. However, if you do not want to miss out on party members make it clear to Iron Bull that any of his messages need to go through Leliana first. You can also rp you own reasons for accepting Iron Bull's help like for example as a slave.

Vivianne: Don't recruit her since she believes magic should serve man and not rule over him. This also takes away the risk of ending up with her as divine.

Mage/Templar Conflict: Side with the Mages strongly recommended.

*The player could side with the Templars in order to let Tevinter have the mages and have Calpernia as an enemy so conscript the Templars. Also near end game Calpernia can be talked out of a fight.

Fate of the Rebel Mages: Pick the mages as allies

Inquisitor's Resolve: Select that you'll accept the role of Inquisitor for your own power

*Skyhold Tip: The only Tevinter upgrades are Banner, Banner Topper, Drapery, Heraldry, and Décor. The banner topper is located in the Hissing Wastes, the banner is located in the Still Ruins at the Western Approach. The drapery is for sale in Val Royeaux for 356 gold, and the rest are unlocked automatically.

Fate of the Wardens: I had to really think about this one and I decided from an Old God worshipper perspective that the Wardens should be exiled. However, they did go to Tevinter for help and performed sacrifices so I guess either way is acceptable.

New Orlesian Leadership: Pick Gaspard

Abelas's Offer: I recommend declining the alliance

Well of Sorrows: This was another tough decision, from a power perspective you could drink from the well however you become a servant to a heathen elven goddess. If Morrigan drinks from the well you will not have to tame an ancient dragon later. I believe it might be best to not drink from the well.

War Table Quests:

A Friend in Qarinus (support a tevinter magister)

RP Choices:

Forces Perks, Cullen:

*choices are up to the player but make sure to include these from a rp point-of-view

Underworld Knowledge (knowledge of slave smuggling, rp reason)

Secrets Perks, Leliana:

Arcane Knowledge (as a magister knowing all about magic is a must), Forward Scouts (needed for log & query locations to build the mage tower skyhold upgrade)

Connections Perks, Josephine:

Nobility Knowledge (dealing with the higher ups in society, rp reason)

Inquisition Perks:

History Knowledge (opens up tevinter dialog with dorian)

Recommended Agents:

Horsemaster Dennet (there is a Tevinter horse for sale in his shop, the Imperial Warmblood), Magister Alexius, Servis

Collections:

A dwarf in Skyhold will inform you that the mosaic pieces are Tevinter and he can tell you the story of what each picture is if you find all the pieces.

Recommended Keeps:

Out of the three Keeps, I recommend the one in The Western Approach. The Venatori have occupied Griffon Wing Keep, make sure to capture it for yourself.

Tevinter Armor & Weapons:

Call of the Dark

*Not a mage weapon but related to the Old God Lusacan. It's a 2-handed maul that can be found at Crestwood for 16,488 gold. The Short List perk is required to make it available.

Tevinter Mace

*Not a staff but Tevinter related. It's a one-handed mace that sometimes drops randomly. Sometimes they can be for sale in Crestwood.

Tevinter Tower Shield

*This shield sometimes drops from Red Templars.

Archon Fire Staff/Archon Ice Staff

*unknown information at this time

Magister Fire Staff

*Reward for War Table mission Follow Venatori Assassins

Magister Ice Staff

*Reward for War Table mission The Serpent of Nevarra and Investigate Ancient Library.

Magister Lightning Staff

*unknown information at this time

Scepter of Razikale

*Related to the Old God Razikale. In the Jaws of Hakkon DLC in the abandoned jail in Frostback Basin.

Cowl of the Overseer

*a tevinter mage hat worn by someone of Altus rank. Found in Griffon Wing Keep.

Venatori Helmet

*Found for sale in the Hissing Wastes and Val Royeaux.

Nice! If I had a youtube channel I'd make a complete dragon age tevinter walkthrough. Or I'm hoping someone else would attempt this guide.

Thanks. I don't have any recording equipment so I can't make videos. Perhaps I'll look into it one day.

I'm glad you like it! I'm replaying my mage with this guide because I made some mistakes the first time when the game launched.
