60 hours in, grand total of 2 crashes to desktop, both some directx -error. Haven't seen any major bugs, only small glitches with the character movement (standing on tables and stuff like that)

Perhaps I'm just lucky, then? The only annoyance is that sometimes the game seems to stutter/lag/drop frames when I turn the camera. It mostly happens when I enter a new area and it's accompanied by my HDD doing something. I guess the game loads something, causing the drop of frames. Tad annoying, but glad it doesn't happen all the time.

For those of you that have no glitches, can you please post your PC's specs? The game is playable on Med/Low settings if I make it off the main menu before that inevitably freezes. 40 hrs in, and I've had a few issues with characters disappearing in Haven, and graphics REALLY chugging in crowded areas like Redcliffe.

CPU: Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics: Radeon HD 6800 1 GB

I7-4770 (3.4ghz quad)

16GB Memory

Nvidia GTX 760

Settings Mesh: Ultra

Water: Ultra

Terrain: High

Vegetation: High

Post Processing: Low (I hate motion blur, this disables it)

Texture: Medium

Shadow:Medium

Effects Quality: High

This game is unplayable on my PC

Fixed it for you OP.

It sucks your journey has been super bugged, I think all PC users have experienced some bugs here and there (as to be expected on release of an epic ambitious RPG): and I hope they fix as many as possible soon, but it's not unplayable for all people on PC.

I've put in 69 hours over 2 characters, and it's been a brilliant ride so far - using a controller on PC has been great too, a new first for Bioware on PC which made my day (couch Dragon Age is my favourite Dragon Age!).

I've had a couple of bugged abilities myself, and 1 quest bug in the Mage quest along with a few minor sound bugs.. but overall, the adventure for me on PC has been truly sublime, bugs be damned...until the patch at least eh (which I'm looking forward to also!).

I had regular crashes, but then I disabled Superfetch (a Windows service) and they stopped.

Random crashes are sometimes Windows's fault, not the fault of the application that crashes.

People often misattribute blame for technical problems.

PC on Windows is like Android. Consoles are like Apple. Many of those issues are USER or hardware related. Most of the times they are due to users. People who doesn't want options or doesn't know about technical stuff should go for Apple *ahem* consoles.

I get this from time to time, found out that pressing alt-tab to go out of the game and back in solves the problem most, if not all the time.

Even quicker, just right click somewhere on the screen. It's brought it back for me every single time. Also works when my mouse stops being responsive at the war table and menus as well.

My recommendation:

DO get this game on PC. There are a few glitches and the controls take some getting used to, but they're not bad and, if your machine has the power and you can deal with Origin, the game looks much better than it does on the consoles. Inquisition is a wonderful, ambitious game that you shouldn't deprive yourself of because of a couple of technical misgivings.

The only serious issues I had with it on PC were Nvidia driver crashes and cutscene stuttering initially (there's a workaround until they sort it out: turn both post-processing settings down to medium or less, been running perfectly since on my GTX 760). Other than that there's a number of glitches that I expect they'll patch out before long, only a couple of which are serious enough to be any more than a slight irritation (and those are fully avoidable once you're aware of them).

I'm over 80 hours in and I haven't run into any bugs or other issues that would make me consider the game "unplayable" as the TC called it, in fact I'd go so far as to say it could be Bioware's best game to date once it's patched up and damned brilliant even as it is now. I'd only caution folk that the SWTOR-ish controls outside of Tactical View take a little getting used to (and might put some folk off) and it's like DA2 in that it's easy to miss out on quests if you don't "do the rounds" back at base fairly often.

No crashes to desktop. If the game won't start from Origin, start from the executable in the game folder. If companions aren't visible, save, log out to menu, continue. There are annoyance, but few game breaking bugs. Just ask for a solution instead of beating your head against the wall. It's not like there will never be a bug patch.

You have played 60+ hours yet it is unplayable? lol, ok.

I am 40+ hours in and havent had any crashes. My only issues are some long load times, keyboard & mouse wonkiness and the occasional graphic glitch. No biggie, great game so far.

bugs are annoying on any PC game and to be expecting, sorry to hear you (and some) are having issues but that doesnt translate to "OMG dont buy this game on PC everyone, its broken, the sky is falling". I have been playing for 40 hours and besides some minor things it runs really well on my machine. I am not saying you arent having issues but merely pointing out that the game is broken for everyone.

ALL PC gamers should be aware of the inherent issues with PC gaming and that sometimes think dont work as well as they should. Once again that is not an excuse or justification, merely a statement of fact,

~40 hours in, not a single freeze or CTD. Absolutely no bugs that I notice, either. Music plays fine, banters play fine even. Game is pretty smooth too.

1920x1080 RES

CPU: i7 4770 @ stock clocks (can't be bothered to OC)

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance

Graphics: R9 280x 3GB

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Most settings on high, Fade-Touched textures, tessellation medium, post-processing off, post-process AA off, MSAA off. I use RadeonPro and activate FXAA+SMAA, pretty decent AA for 10+ FPS without MSAA on.

So in conclusion OP probably has a bad rig, or a lot of unnecessary programs that are interfering with the proper operation of the computer. It's not the game, it's your PC. Don't tell people not to buy this awesome game just because you can't run a clean, stable PC.

65 hours.

Not a single crash to desktop.

Only a couple of sound bugs encountered.

Fantastic experience.

Most problems are to do with people's setup, not the game itself.

About 100 hours in, occasional crash when I scroll through a menu too quickly - primary Skyhold upgrade menu (seems to be a direct X 11 problem).  I've had about 4 crashes to desktop elsewhere -not sure what triggered them.  Only frame stutter I've had was climbing stairs in Skyhold and it only seemed to happen in one area - I haven't seen it repeat since I saved and reloaded.  One dialog that seemed to skip a line.

Once in a while when the game opens it tries to open in windowed mode (even though I have the option for full screen checked) or has weird pixelated graphics with odd colors - popping between the app view and the desktop view on Windows 8 seems to fix this so I'm assuming it is a Windows 8 problem.  Had the same problem when I replayed DA2 on this computer.

All in all pretty minor problems for that many hours of play.

Running ASUS I7-4770 at 3.4 Ghz and 32 G ram, Windows 8.  Nvidia 760 GTX card.

About 30 hours in, single crash to desktop so far. Mostly, it seems to be very minor glitch oddities that I've experienced. Like my voice changing after meeting Hawke.

That isn't to say the game needs some improvements on the PC though. It does.

I'm over a hundred hours in, am playing on a PC, and have yet to encounter any bugs beyond the occasional graphics glitch or NPC not showing up right away. I do get crashes, but only after playing a good 3+ hours a stretch, and I think my RAM (or lack of it - got a bad stick with a new PC and am waiting for a replacement) is largely to blame. So while I sympathize with people who are having issues and hope they get patched soon, telling people the game is absolutely unplayable is a bit extreme. I definitely recommend playing with the graphics settings though - turning down the majority of them seems to have a huge impact on performance but the game will still look good.

I hate to agree but THIS IS NOT A PC FIRST!!! Platform GAME!!!!  Dont buy it if you expect to play as most PC gamers do with a mouse and keyboard.

ive noticed the issue where the game sometimes wont load properly - i.e:

start game
load current save from menu
game gets to black screen with icon.. stays on screen.. have to load previous save to recover.

ive also noticed during the last fight, a certain cut-scene doesnt load and prevents the player from being able to advance.  not getting anymore specific than that due to spoilers.

This game is unplayable on the PC.  There are so many bugs that it has just completely ruined the entire experience for me.  I have but 61 hours into the game, and now I cannot advance because the game constantly crashes to the desktop with no error message during one of the main fights.

Furthermore, half the time, the game won't even launch.  I've sat here clicking play 20+ times from the Origin launcher and it won't do anything.  This game is a steaming pile of garbage that should have had a lot more testing to work out the bugs.

I'm done with BW and Dragon Age at this point.

The above mentioned bugs are only the most severe.  There's numerous other bugs that make quests impossible.  And literally hundreds over other annoyances.  If you buy this game, don't waste money on the PC version.

Not to sound snarky but that's why I'm a console gamer. I used to be a PC gamer but I got tired of having buggy games released that I paid good money for. This is not to say there aren't bugs in the console versions, my PS4 game has crashed several times however just restarting the game from a previous save usually fixes that.
