Now the only thing weird I notice is that when I was installing the game when it came time to ask for disc 2 it ejected my drive D. I have 2 DVD ROM D and E.
Will try installing on my old XP partition (god it will be so out of date.)

two nvidia cards..have you both patched to the most recent drivers? Is there anything in windows event viewer that points to the crash?

WinXP 32bit SP3
Athlon 64 X2 3800+
2GB RAM
GeForce 7800GTX, Forceware 196.21
I can run Crysis, Dead Space, Quake Wars, fine... AFAIK I'm above the Mass Effect 2 system requirements?

also try disabling sli when you run it..i'm curious.
Interesting point seeing that the Nvidia driver stated it fixed an SLI issue with Mass Effect 2.
Been a long time since I had to tinker to get a game running. Little rusty.

actually make sure you install the version of PhysX that comes on the dvd.
I had an issue with PhysX too but it wasn't causing that sort of crash. It could be the latest forceware drivers are packaged with a different version then the game expects.

go to the dvd rom..right click..hit explore.
Its under Redistributables.
Double click on PhysX SystemSoftware.
It will prompt you to uninstall. Do it.
Go back in and run it again to install.
Also try the other distributables that are in there.

hmmm.. Checked the folder and its only 9.65 gigs under vista but almost 12 gigs in XP. I have not ran it in XP yet (need a boat load of updates). Wonder if that is the cause. Will try one more reinstall.
