The thing that bothers me is that the developers said that I wouldn't have to pander to each companion to get good approval from them, but I find I still need to tell them what they want to hear just to unlock their personal quests.

The developers said many things. Like that we will have 40 endings for example. Or some amazing CC and crafting system.

All turned out to be bullsh*t.

I was fine with it in DAO and I'm fine with it here, I vastly prefert hat characters won't open up to oyu if they don't care for you. Makes the characters more organic and less like cardboard cutouts.

I don't mind. I just wish I had a way to check where things are.

For example, I had Cass's approval quickly maxed out with just "Cass approves" or "slightly approves"

While its taking ages with Blackwall even though he gives pleny of "Greatly approves".

I agree. Why the hell would a person want to necessarily share their problems and concerns with you, if they don't even like you to begin with?

Where's the 40 endings claim and the CC and crafting are fine, that's personal taste.

I know the 40 ending thing is from TW3, show me proof that Bioware said 40 endings and do note if they said that they are most likely talking about the world states that can happen, same with CDP saying TW2 had 16 endings when it really only had one(arguly 2) endings with 16 possible world states.

My character acted the way she acts, she sometimes pissed of people. She still got all personal quest, everyone stated and they where all friendly at the end so no you don't have to pander.

Cass: "I hate you!"

Inquisitor: "Tell me about Anthony."

Cass: "He was my brother, we were very close and etc."

Wait, did someone acquire approval with their companions by secretly wiretapping the Democratic National Convention?

I respected everyone and mostly got along with them, despite some instances of disapproval. i'm totally fine with the approval-gating. If you hate someone and they hate you right back, I wouldn't expect to chat with them in the tavern over a tankard of ale or whatever your drink of choice is (just please-Maker-no, not that stuff I drank with Bull last night).

Do whatever you feel is right for yourself, because evidently, you can be a jerk if you want and still see interesting things happen. I saw that video of the male Inquisitor who punches Solas, and they clearly had an antagonistic relationship. My relationship with Solas was a complete 180 from that, so no punching.

Oh but I do, though I think it stems more from my own pathological need to be liked by others.

eh i'll buy a guide for this, the weird apart is sera is under no illusions that i dislike her and yet i got her quests yet blackwall and bull nada.

I'm in the same boat. I have exhausted all dialogue options with Bull, so there's not much else I can do. But, apparently, killing a dragon with him in the party brings massive approval. As for Blackwall, he told my Quizzie that he had tremendous respect for her, and that he's glad to have joined up, but no personal quest yet... Ah, well.

I liked this better than what we got in Origins although I can understand some people's frustration. My main beef with the one in Origins was how easy it was to cheese it with gifts. Oh I just had a little tiff with Morrigan here have a shiny golden necklace all better!!!

BS. They said 3 "main" endings and 40 variations i.e. what we now call worldstates or whatever. And in the end it doesn't matter, so yes, they didn't deliver.

CC is a joke. They ruined everything with the ugly hairstyles, and without nexus and mods it won't get better this time. It'll never cease to amaze me how all characters look pretty much ok and how hideous the defaults are. They clearly just forget to give a f, it's not a lack of talent or resourses. The same can be said about armor. They've spent some time creating companion's outfits and they all look unique (at least) and they fit. Yes, there are some decent-looking ones for the pc too, but the hell? I spent most of the time looking on my character and not companions, so...

Crafting is also weird as hell, you can almost never make it look the way you would like, it's all limited.

The game is better than DA2 and maybe a little better than Origin, but by no means better in all the ways they promised.

Where's your proof. Give me claims that Bioware said this and I mean real proof not "I heard it from someone." A legitimate link that has a  Bioware dev stating that.

Again, CC and crafting is YOUR opinion, I don't share it .

The CC is pure porn and crafting is awesome.

Feel free to disagree with me.

Yeah, I enjoyed the CC and would have kept tweaking the settings, but at some point, I actually wanted to play the game. I do want more hairstyles, though - not going to lie. Also, having crafted a bunch of stuff, it is fun to try out different things - the colors usually work out, but I guess I'm lucky that way. :P

Many people disliked hairstyles from DAO, DA2 and now many dislike DAI's. So no, it's not only my opinion, it's just an opinion. It's ridiculous that we have such nice CC and so few options when it goes to hair - I mean, dear Maker, half of men's are just bald or shaved.  Like half out of 12 or 15 I don't remember.

I know they have problems with long hair and it somehow limited their options - but then again, like I said, all companions look just fine. Would it kill them to make something like Fenris' or Merrill's? I don't think so.

Where's your proof.

I don't have problems with my memory and I do remember BW saying we'll have several major endings and 40 lesser variations depending on our choices. But of course they always could've stated anything after that. Like they always do.

It was stated, I don't want to search whole internet, twitters and blogs just to "prove" something because I simply don't care.

Personally, I haven't found it to be a very big deal. Even the person I have the rockiest relationship with, Solas, gave me a personal quest and then later even told me that he respected me.

Blackwall in particular seems very, very easy to please so I can't imagine it being that difficult to move his arc along.

How in the heck do you have a "rocky" relationship with Solas? You gain approval if you sneeze to hard. He's literally the guy that's trying to like you lol

Considering I barely ever spoke or agreed with Vivienne and Iron Bull, and still got their conversations and quests, I'm perfectly happy with it.
