When I said that you need to remember us crappy casuals, I didnt mean I wouldnt welcome balancing in general. The demon commander mainly needs its visual cue could do with appearing a little earlier perhaps, to compensate for latency of players and give more time to avoid its attacks.
The venatori boss I certainly agree is the weakest link, but we need to make sure she isnt buffed too much if at all, because lots of players are struggling on routine easy mode in pugs. I know its mainly cos they havent really grasped stuff yet cos the games new, and they have no gear - at MEMP launch people struggled on easy too, silver was crazy hard and people were going nuts when they managed to pull off a gold. A year later we had people soloing platinum with drell vanguards.
This doesnt mean we need to balance NOW for the long run, balancing needs careful adjustment as the community evolves. It needs tailoring so that the players who want a challenge get one, while the vast majority (casuals who wont even frequent this forum) also need catering for. It should never be too easy or people will get bored, but you have to be really careful not to make it too frustrating or the main player base will just give up and play something easier.
Factions in MEMP were not balanced at first, everyone liked running reapers, but collectors were bloody hard with the seeker swarms early on. They balanced it out eventually, they made collectors easier, added new enemy units in all factions and made a new platinum difficulty. They even changed the maps themselves to provide a challenge, cos everybody was running glacier, cerberus, gold or whatever it was and the game was going bad because it was all you could find when looking for matches..
..so have faith. Its good to voice concerns. I am not a weak player, but playing with weak ones can cause problems as I cant really solo efficiently, especially against the demon commander unless I pick certain characters that can break from his stun. The average player doesnt frequent forums and lots are not aware of tactics regarding the demon commander, or in general. Often players wont pick a defensive position like the doorway and run off and die, often keepers somehow never cast barrier and support the tanks, also often people keep standing too close to each other when against the demon commander. These happen ALL the time. People still run off and agro mooks while the other three are in a treasure room, and sometimes they bleed out, or worse they open the bloody door and teleport everyone..
So, my point is - a straight up buff may not suit everyone just yet. The templar guy is easy too if you just keep your distance, but he at least feels like a threat. I cant judge the difficulty scaling as I havent played enough, but normal players havent a chance in hell against the other factions yet on medium difficulty with their current weapon levels. Something definately needs looking at, but just be wary about making it too hard.
