Does it bother anyone that the Terrors from the fade rifts across DA:I sound exactly like Banshees from Mass Effect 3? One can say they kind of look similar too lol. One of the ominous sounds in DA:I sounds a whole lot like Reapers from Mass Effect 3 >.<

Not really, BioWare is BIG on reuse of sounds, animations, etc. In some instances they have reutilized the Arishok throne animations, it's made apparent on a Qunari Inquisitor.

Blowing the trumpets in the Exalted Plains sounds like the Reaper noises when scanning for debris or planetary items a bit too much to alert them. :o

Another musical instance reminded me of the collector base mission... beat going pretty strong and fast. (Favorite song btw)

And "I should go."  :P

Bothered by it? Not too much.

I thought it was a nice touch. It's a powerful sound :)

There's a giant mass effect reference during the "wicked hearts and eyes" quest, in one of the rooms.

Come to think of it, it's kinda like the Kasumi DLC reference.

Not a bother, it's common in other media as well.

I'm kind of getting tired of the conversation wheel, we've had for five games now and I still don't like it all that much. I'd much rather pick from a list of responses and have my protagonist say it verbatim.

I had a slight problem with recycled areas in DA2, but none whatsoever with recycled sounds so long as they fit.

It would be funny if they had just chopped up Vega's dialogue from ME3 to use for Bull though. It would have been a dick move on Biowares part though a hilarious dick move.

I really like noticing the reused stuff between ME and DA. Things like Fort Drakon/Drakon Towers, reuse of names (there's a reference to someone named "Sten" in ME2, one of the guards on the Normandy in ME3 is named Bethany), stuff like that. I think it's fun.

I enjoy spotting reused animations that track from game to game.

Bioware put in tons of references to other games they are fun to spot. They also have tons of references to forum jokes and things of that nature which are even more fun. Animations often get reused in games because it saves time on mundane things and you'd have to dig very deep to find them all. Did notice that Terrors are more or less reskinned Banshees though. They do have some new animations and some new levels of annoying to go with them   >.>

Bioware is widely known for recycling animations and sounds. Its basically a running joke at this point.

Honestly I would be sad if they created new sounds and animations. Despite catching myself noticing the same stuff from previous games I would be sad to see them change.

I heard those things shriek and immediately flashed back to the horror of fighting Banshees in ME3 on NIghtmare.  I went into panic mode there for a bit  :P .  I don't mind them using same sounds for games ( I can not tell you how many games have the same sound as Resident Evil for opening and closing doors).  It puts me back to were I first experienced it.  - Definitely not a bad feeling.

This isn't the first game with ME related things.

Amaranthine is one of the planets from the Hostile Takeover mission in Mass Effect and a city in Awakenings.

Using sounds aren't even an issue.  Nor is finding a few ME things in DA.

Yeah, not a fan of the re-used animations. Recycling since 2007 (first Mass Effect), I believe? There is this particularly jarring animation of the person's shoulders completely hunched forward while walking. Looks unnatural on guys, even worse on ladies. I swear I've seen it before...

Not as much as using Tali's hand rubbing animation as the default animation for Cassandra and Leiliana.

I do get flashbacks and panic when I hear it, but they go down easy enough. Still, putting that sound back into a game is just cruel

There's that too. Not exactly suited for either Cass or Leliana. Bioware is clearly capable of creating new animations (Dem Romance scenes), so why they don't do it more is puzzling.

I would prefer they re-use assets they thought were appropriate for economical sake, I've always been baffled by games that don't re-use code or assets from previous titles or other titles by the developer.
