I haven't played the ME series, so no.
And the hell not? ![]()
The entire trilogy, sans DLC, is on sale from Origin. ME1 and ME2 are on sale on Steam. ![]()

No, and I tried to erase everything about ME3 from my memory.

You missed out. It was only the last ~10 minutes that went off the rails. The rest of the game was incredible.

I played it (unfortunately preordered and didn't have any warning like those who played later) and disagree. Good day to you.
Oh yeah, there's definitely some audio asset recycling going on in this game. Not really a big deal to me as long as the sounds effects are appropriate and the recycling is not overly obvious.
LOL, I noticed this as well.
The banshee's arrived. And they also scream the same way.
No, I don't mind. I think it is a good idea. The banshees was actually very well made.
And somehow it feels familiar ![]()
I love the audio throwbacks myself. ME3 Game of the Ever.
Mostly.
I wouldn't have noticed the only Mass Effect game I liked was the original, bought the second but could never get into it like I did the first game which I played several times over.
Well well well... Since Ogre statue from DA appear in ME and Krogan head appear in DA. It's not bother me at all, because they live in the same universe ![]()
Not that I mind it much, but I'm not sure if it is a tribute or just recyled resources. Maybe they did it on purpose.
It was baffling at first because all the idea behind the barriers reminded me of ME too much. But apart from that... no, I don't think it's something bad.
i noticed the similiarity of reaver's devour and the omniblade..
I'm sure I recall the music on the wounded coast in DA2 was the same as the music on the galaxy map in ME.
It happens alot in game companies, they often use animations or sound from other games that they have developed to save money and time with producing new voices or animations.
Resident Evil did this, Blazblue took some animations from Guility Gear etc.
I consider these "easter eggs"
Actually, if I was going to reuse a resource, a genuinely bone-chilling scream like the Banshee's is as good as any: especially since there's a good chance your players have heard it before and will hopefully have the same reaction.
I'm fine with ME in my DA - I actually made a noise when Cullen said something about needing to calibrate the trebuchets in a war room conversation.
So I didn't imagine that... good thing they are much more squishy then Banshees, though. ![]()
When I first heard it I was like "waaaaaaaaaait a minute...." but I grew to like it. The banshee noises in ME3 freaked me the hell out, and they do the same in DA:I - it was a gem of a sound file, so I don't really blame them for re-using it ![]()
Plus I can pretend that Shepard is going to fall through the rift and go all omniblade on their asses
There's that too. Not exactly suited for either Cass or Leliana. Bioware is clearly capable of creating new animations (Dem Romance scenes), so why they don't do it more is puzzling.
If you look closely Cassandra's wiggle actually belongs to Bethany too. Just one of those little shortcuts that must save them time when they're working would be nice to get some new stuff though.
Nice to know there is music in the game I thought because of big gameworld they saved on music budget playing. I hardly have any.
One of the first things I noticed was that the inquisitor uses some of the same posture animations as Shepard when he's talking. Doesn't bother me.
Not as much as using Tali's hand rubbing animation as the default animation for Cassandra and Leiliana.
Not only that, some ambient music around some open areas are from ME too.
I like the ME bits. I played the hell out of those games. I even liked ME3 despite its flaws (I didn't play it for a year because I listened to everyone else saying it sucked- decided to find out for myself and I enjoyed it immensely, though some parts were infuriating).
"I should go" still makes me giggle. Bioware knew people hated it, since they made a joke about it in the Citadel DLC themselves.
Both awesome series in different ways, with some major flaws that I feel are much made up for in the rest of the content.
I heard Dorian say "down you go!" a few times. Good old Carth, or Kaiden if you remember it from ME.
