I think they are hinting at certain things and waiting for technology to catch up to implement them
I think the same, for Bioware games as a whole (not just Dragon Age).
Its like so much is a stalling tactic until the 2020s haha.

Wow, I opened this thread in Inquisition withdrawal, thinking maybe a couple of people will add their two cents. Glad to hear so much brain's buzzing ! ![]()
I don't have much more to say about the whole ordeal ; I can see there's something here, but I'm unable to say what-- I'm not a writer for DA (but fondly appreciate their work, kuddos BW team).
Dagna's comment about being very tall made me think about Guild Wars (especially Eye of the North) and the dwarves religion including the Great Dwarf (not sure if it's accurate, as I was young and still played in French back then). I think he, in turn, comes from some scandinavian folklore, but Google did not find any obscure link to it. Anyway, courtesy of the GW Wiki ;
The Great Dwarf, although worshiped as a god, is a collective consciousness. When King Jalis Ironhammer performed the Rite of the Great Dwarf and linked the minds of the Dwarves, they fulfilled the prophecy within the Tome of Rubicon. No one has ever seen the Great Dwarf in the flesh.[1]
Hive Mind anyone ?

I hadn't even considered the potential similarity to Guild Wars' dwarves when pondering Dagna's ramblings. That's quite interesting, what's more is that the Rite of the Great Dwarf didn't just give them a sort of hive mind it also transformed them into living stone. Potentially pure coincidence that it could be similar to Dragon Age's dwarves' "Stone Sense", but it does point out interesting possibilities for the future of DA dwarves.
