If he is going to be mentioned, give us a bone. That's all I am saying, and I believe the OP is feeling that way too. If the Dev want to be rid of him, have him killed from blight fever. Have a funeral were all the NPCs gather around for closure in a bar. Morrigan, Lilianna, Shale, Sten, Oghran, Alistair, and Zeveran all crying in their beer.

People fade to time. Even famous ones. Whether the HoF died at Denerim or lived on to research the calling might just be the end of that person's story. Also leaving well enough alone could be for the better in regards to logistics and fan acceptance.

Would love to have my HoF come back - even for a cameo! So I'd pay for the dlc.

I'm don't get why it would be so difficult to produce a HoF.

The accents of the characters are fairly set (HoF didn't have a voice but we know what the Dalish, Fereldens and Dwarves sound like):

Dalish is Welsh / Irish (Dalish origin); Ferelden is generally posh English (Noble, City Elf, Mage); Dwarfs are American (either Dwarf origin). So in truth its only six voice actors.

We'd be able to design our own HoF (as we did with Hawke in DAI).

You could determine personality by a choice in the Keep (though I'm not sure what difference that actually made with Hawke to be honest).

It wouldn't be perfect - in part because graphic engines have moved on - but it would be pretty okay.

So please, please, please make it happen Bioware.

Precisely what would the HoF have been able to do against Corypheus? Become his new host after slaying Corypheus in combat?

I prefer to leave the HoF unseen. It's enough to know that he's out there and OK.

Which would make me rage a bit.

DLC to Inquisition would probably be the wrong approach. DAO2. Continue blank slate. Continue an important story in a part of the world not too affected by the Inquisition. Bring back DAO-ish gameplay. It doesn't have to be voiced. The game was great regardless of voice-acting (see: basically everyone ever loving their HoF).

It wouldn't be *difficult* to do. It would just be a decision to make - is it worth making a separate DAO2 from DA4? Would people buy it? Probably.

Imagine with all the feedback from DAO and many new gameplay experiments since it came out - it would likely be a fantastic game. Probably a bit smaller than DAI, hopefully fewer resources, as it wouldn't need MMO-size levels. It probably isn't likely to happen, but I guarantee if something called Dragon Age: Origins 2 came out, and you could import from the Keep and remake your Warden, people would freaking buy it. And then you coud make the choices you wanted in a new story instead of getting all upset about teh headcannon.

If they brought out Origins 2 where I could play as the Warden again I would definitely buy it. For those people who got the Warden killed at the end of Origins well don't worry you can try again, you'll get it right this time champ  ;)

I know the Warden's story is kind of finished and it would probably be difficult to top ending the blight and living to tell the tale but still I miss the Warden so I want to see her again.

Playing as the Warden when she's got older could be interesting. Perhaps it would be the perfect opportunity for someone to implement Yahtzee's backwards levelling idea: http://www.escapistm...veled-Backwards

I think I would appreciate something like that (a continuation of the Warden's story), but it seems so unlikely to happen. I have the impression that the maximum extent of fanservice Bioware intended to do, regarding the HOF, was what we saw in DA:I.

After seeing how Hawke was eventually implemented into the game, I decided that I really would not want to see the HoF included as an NPC. No matter how hard I tried, I could never replicate the look I had for any of my Hawkes and in general found that much of the way the different personalities reacted to things did not measure up to how my Hawkes reacted to things in game.

That's not to say that I didn't appreciate the effort made to include the character. There's still that initial moment of "wow, my two NPCs are on the same screen at the same time together" ... but ... I don't know.

The only way the HoF would work would be as a playable character, and the only way I see that working is in a DLC. Which I absolutely want, btw. I feel like that story has been left too opened ended and it would be nice to get some closure.

With that said, I'm not holding my breath though. As much as many people like myself would like to play the HoF again, many more will be displeased with however it is implemented.

...and why should he have been mentioned in either game? What relevancy did he have to events?

Are you nuts?!!!!  ->Oghren helped stop the 5th blight and is also a grey warden. Plus a friend of the HoF.<-  That's the relevancy....

I don't care if Oghren is a side character and Felsi and their child are even less than that and are not that important or his writing in Awakening was bad. Maybe you don't want to see that Dwarf but I'm sure others who are true "Oghren" fans out there want to see that Dwarf again. As i said Oghren is so underrated that he deserves better then no mention at all. Why a stupid lousy painting of Oghren's concept art which can be seen near the bar at the Hanged Man in DA2 and not even a freaking reference to his entire existence in the game? I refuse to accept Oghren is a side character who's not that important, no matter what you oghren haters will say.   Don't be a jerk just because you think Oghren is not important.

Oghren IS a very important character in the world of DA. He helped stop the 5th blight and is also a grey warden. Plus a friend of the HoF. I don't understand why Bioware is completely ignoring his existence.

If Oghren can't make a cameo, i rather talk to his new wife Felsi and see how is she doing with her new child.

Felsi: "Haven't heard from the sodding lush since he went to Weisshaupt... sorry, I'm distracted. Did you need something?"

Oghren perhaps should have been Stroud. Yeah. Think about that. How awesome would that have been in DA2? And now in DAI?! Oghren in the Fade! Snarky Hawke being his friend?! Varric would die from jealousy.

Not to the Inquisitor. Oghren has nothing to do with The Inquisition and so far no role to play. Being Relevant in the past does not make him relevant now.

Your opinion is noted, but unless there's a relevant story reason to bring Oghren back he should remain sidelined.

There's nothing inherently crucial about the Hero of Ferelden now. S/He ended the Fifth Blight and if s/he survived went on some more adventures and then GTFO'd. The HoF is not the only badass in Thedas, clearly, so why must s/he be a central figure again?

And there's really no way to bring back the HoF satisfactorily. S/He will have to be voiced, have to be recreated in the CC, and no one would be happy with it.

I would prefer a DLC with my warden. Or even a core game/something like Awakening with my Warden. The calling is to important not to do anything about. Considering my HoF went looking for the cure, its got to be centered around him. And with the hint of warden troubles brewing (as seen in the end credits) its almost safe to say a DLC involving them is in the future.

I don't care what the reasons are for people not wanting to see their warden again. I do and I believe my reasons are just as important.

It's not Oghren that im mad about, NOT having Bodhan and Sandal in DAI is worse cause they are no where to be found, since their amount of impact on the last two games, being your trade/travel/camp buddies and main enchanter bros. That, and how Sandal predicted the ending to Inquisition.

Also I have a hard time believing that Bodahn Feddic and Sandal will appear in a Inquisition-related dlc; because what would be the point? Dragon Age 2 "specifically" stated that they had been invited to serve in Celene's court, and for whatever the hell reason - - - they are a no show at the castle. The decision behind this major storytelling would be fascinating to know, given the previous importance of this dwarven pair, but at this point it comes down to being little more than a WTF moment!

Are the writers of Bioware really that stupid to forget these dwarves? The devs need to stop being so self-conscious about their characters. We all pay the same amount of money for their games for gods sake.

you-will-be-sorry.jpg

....again, pattern recognition. Hawke got a cameo in the game...which could result in the characters death....and no matter you choose, the Champion of Kirkwall very quickly exit's stage right. Revan got a cameo in TOR that resulted in significant fan rage, and even the new Expansion based around Revan has caused a fair amount of crying and Gnashing of Teeth. So you guys see how that went...and demand "The HoF deserves the same treatment?"

Do you really want to see what David Gaider has in store for the HoF?

Are the writers of Bioware really that stupid to forget these dwarves?

1. You weren't at Celene's castle, you were at the manor of another Nobel

2. Why would chosing not to use the dwarves make the writers "idiots"?

Become his new host after slaying Corypheus in combat?

I would create a world state with a living HoF just to see that.

And I'm fairly sure the writers pit would allow it if people keep asking....

Fans: "We want the HoF!"

Bioware: "Sure, here you go....now you have to kill your beloved hero or watch him/her get worked like a puppet as they set the world on fire. Enjoy!"

I wouldn't mind a dlc where we play as the warden on his quest, s/he can stay silent to avoid the voice issue and finally end his story via death/gettingtoooldforthisshitI'mgoinghome/or going back to vigils

-snip-

Tweet it to Gaider and co.  They would love it.

EDIT: They may have already thought of it and plan on implementing it in the future.

Could you imagine that? We get the option for default or custom Hof, he slaps Cory about, give the inq a cocky smile, then bam Coryinised.

I still want to make a Hawke/Inquisitor romance.

Heck yeah. If that were possible, it'd be my canon timeline.
