ive been playing in excess of 50 hours now in the hopes i would find more longswords... i have not... i have like 3 in total and thats including the flames of the inquisition sword, are there any good longsword schematics at vendors or any notable locations?

Yeah, I have noticed a severe lack of longswords, or really any one-handed weapon, for my character.  It's starting to feel like the game has a built-in mechanism to skew drops away from whatever class your inquisitor is.

 

I get so many two handed weapons, daggers, and Qunari helms.

 

Bianca has gotten more drops than I have.

Oddly I have the opposite issue. My tank has a 280 dps one-handed weapon while my 2-handed warrior has a 200 dps greatsword. Wish I could find a better 2-handed weapon or a level 3 schematic.

For 1 Handed Weapons, you will run into a lot more Maces and Axes than Longswords, Caliban,one handed sword you need to kill Kaltenzahn, One of the Dragons in Emprise Du Lion, hes on top of one of the Colosseums, the Hilt isnt very good thou, if you switch it out for an Armor Pen Hilt, it becomes pretty awesome, pair that with an Armor Pen ring, it gets pretty deadly against just about anything.

 

I mean nothing as broken as Sera's Super Dmg Spam Combo, but pretty good as far as normal gameplay goes, if you dont care about Min-Maxing, and want to enjoy a nice looking Longsword.

I found my lvl 3 schematics quite early on so my tank was sorted but I was playing rogue and found my god combo so didn't even need weapons by the end.

Qunari Vitaars are my bane, every other drop was one of those things, and half of them just make Bull look like a coke fiend.

There is a Mission on the Wartable you will run into Rumors of the Sulevin Blade, if you are an Elf, if not you will need to get the book in Emprise Du Lion, after completing the mission you will be prompted to go explore the Elven Ruins and reclaim the fragments of the Blade, you return to skyhold, give the pieces to your Runeologist/Alchemist whatever, the person who chills in the undercroft with your Blacksmith, and they will reforge a new blade from the Fragments.

 

Sulevin blade which has aproxx 300 dps, plus it looks sick as hell. cant change the Hilt, or pomel, but you can Rune it per the norm.

But sulevin blade is a greatsword, no longsword.

Besides that, I'm happy that the strongest unique 2-hander is a sword.

Random loot sucks.  I have tons of great bows and bow schematics, but I don't run anyone with a bow in my default party.

Yeah, I noticed this and it bothered the heck out of me. I prefer longsword myself, but my main sword/shield was stuck with axes most of the time because I kept finding these insanely overpowered axes (I have one that does 299 DPS). I can't even craft a 2Handed Dragon Sword to have that much DPS with a Master rune.

 

Speaking of over-powered weapons, I found this bow that fires 3 arrows every attack. So much death.

I got a bow at level 12 or so that does 150dps and enemies explode when killed. It's wrecked everything for 6 levels now, still no replacement.

Well, my main is a mage, so I basically am using longswords on Cassandra only, but i have gotten some quite sweet (blue and purple) drops at regular points in the game.  I presume its maiinly random drops, though, so I can't tell you specifically wehre to find them, except loot everything.

This is my problem, I hardly run with rogues at all and the game takes great delight in giving me bows and daggers constantly.
