I'm getting ready to do Crestwood for the first time, and I was wondering the approximate level that I should be before trying it. I'm going for the third option, so I want to make sure that I can tear through it pretty easily. I'm playing on Normal, if that helps.
Good level for Crestwood?

I utterly cruised through Crestwood's initial area side quest at level 11 as a fire-damage-oriented mage on hard. No specialization. I had a pretty nice staff (purple, req. lvl 11, fire damage) though.

This depends so much on your comfort level with the game. To help out, here's a list that might point you in the right direction:

I'm playing rogue archer on the level below Hard and I was good going in at level 11 with level 10 party members.
That's a fancy way of saying Normal. ![]()

lol, it's an absent-minded way to say Normal. I was struggling...standard? Average? Regular?

I can say which level is NOT good for Crestwood: 15 and up
I made the mistake of doing Exalted Plains and Western Approach before Crestwood, and now I'm stuck with really underpowered enemies. Next time it will be the first area to clear.

Thanks for the tips guys. Yeah, I've already knocked out the Western Approach as well as 3 levels since I posted. The Approach went by really fast for me as well. Quickest I've finished an area yet, and yes, I knocked out the Abyssal Dragon as well. Barely, but I pulled it off. ![]()
So I think I should be fine as an archer at level 14. And yes, I have the nice epic bow you can buy at Skyhold.
