Wicher 3 will always blow Bioware away when it comes to love scenes. I want to compliment Bioware though and say great job on not doing what you did in DA 2. That was awful. Making love with clothes on was just really gross looking to me. I felt like Bioware was treating its fan base like children. Atleast we got to see boobs finally. Times are looking up. Also Iron Bull scene was hilarious. Learn from Witcher 3 though. You guys are getting closer!

Edit: I meant 2 sorry witcher 3 isn't even out yet lol....

Can't really judge the company for that considering its more realistic that way, just mimicing how it works in real life.

I have so few cards  :(

I hope they never go the Witcher route, adding nudity is good enough. The Witcher scenes are all "you saved me, wanna bang?" they make little sense and instead of developing a strong relationship and being an interesting story with two lovers, it just becomes Geralt getting all the ladies then ditching them, with no emotion.

I think im mostly bitter towards the fact that Love scenes with Bioware went down hill because Fox news attacked them for it when the lelianna love scene where you got to see her butt check in Mass effect 1. Very good love scene btw. Hate the company for being ******. Hate Fox news for being a propaganda machine.

I was laughing my ass off when I saw the Sera "Romance," Arc. Who in Bioware wrote her romance arc, honestly. That was the dumbest and funniest thing I've ever seen. How she was acting like an animal just saying weird things and falling on the floor like a toddler. I was honestly expecting a fart joke the entire time. How anyone got "Romance," Out of that scene is beyond me.

Such amazing writing.

The styles are completely different and aim for completely different things. Bioware's romances are focused on the character development, the rewars is the affection of the two characters rather than sex scenes. Witcher aims towards gratification rather than character development.

The less Bioware takes from the Witcher franchise, the better.

It has sex scenes, the character development between the two people engaging in sex is so little it does not really seem to warrant being named a "romance."

Thats Witcher 1, The Witcher two had nice romances, also, if you step back you actually see that Witcher saga is not about end of the world or politics or any kind of that crap, its a story about a guy who finally find peace, than got it taken away from him, now he looks to regain his memory and find love that eludes him. Geralt just wants to be hugged by Yennefer and he is gonna rip appart anyone in between.

The one in the pool, with Triss, was pretty good. It even had some humor in it. Better than Morrigan putting on a bra before sex.

Which is honestly kind of sad. Because the characters of Witcher rely on a lot less variables than the ones in Bioware games. With Geralt being a set character, you would think that there would be better character development between the characters.

I disagree. Witcher 2's sex scenes are hilarious but tasteless. They characterize the world and I find them to be a necessary evil, but I get nothing out of them other than a boner. (except ew, they have dead eyes post-sex in all scenes!)

Witcher 2 does sex better depending on what your viewpoint is (better animations) but the actual romance is something I don't feel. There's nothing romantic about telling Ves she's pretty and "let's hook up!" and then, BAM, SEX SCENE. Triss' one is very romantically erotic but again, it's all about raw sex and not their mutual love.

Bioware is also steadily getting ahead of CD Projekt when it comes to explicity and animations. The fact that we almost get to see them have sex (Cass Roamance or Cullen) plus they're finally naked is a great step up. I don't personally need to see video-game PG-rated scenes like in the Witcher. Like I said, I find it more hilarious than tasteful or beautiful even.

You could put it simply: Bioware are good at mature romance writing. CD Projekt likes naughty and sometimes immature romance that's all about sex.

Geralt does have this spell on him, that makes him love Yennefer forever and ever for eternity, so actual romances with others wouldn't fit well with the source material.

Yennefer and Trish are the only two that really make sense. I did not want Trish and looked for other romances, the best I found was an elven woman that gave Geralt pity sex because he saved her from a burning building or something.

I'm pretty sure most people don't receive "thanks for the sexy time" cards as a habit. It's about as smooth as this:

The Witcher doesn't have romance scenes.

It has **** scenes so that horny dudes can jack it, and then collect cards afterwards.

No matter how bad BioWare's romance scenes may be, at least I actually give a **** about the people involved in them.

The Witcher 2 does have a nice romantic arc when it comes to Triss and Yennefer, but I think a lot of the context is lost without having played the game or reading the books.  In that respect, yeah it was lackluster because it seems like an mindless screw.  Unless you know the background. The other scenes are eh.. but, honestly, I think the biggest divide is the presentation of said activities.
