Oh please no..Don't want CD Red any developer to take or copy anything from Bioware games.. We don't want heavily dumbed down RPG games with mediocre story.....

 

There aren't many AAA hardcore mature RPG games with good story and characters..Witcher is the only one right now and i don't want it to change or become like DAI

I'm talking about the Witchers so called romance. They could easily improve in that area. Bioware beats them in that department.

 

Besides, the Witcher serises isn't the holy grail of video gaming the internet is makeing it out to be.

Blackwall is hot like burning. Geralt is hideous, and I hated his personality for the one hour I spent playing as him. I don't care how many griffon feathers Blackwall wants me to find or how many things Geralt kills, the answer remains obvious.

I'd usually agree but the scene between Triss and Geralt in the Witcher 2 below the statue of lovers is pretty nice.  She playfully pulls him into the water when he still has some of his clothes on.  The way he holds her face and looks at her shortly after that is spot on.

This is ridiculous. Blackwall doesn't ask you to find to Grey Warden stuff in return for romance.He asks you to find the Grey Warden stuff because he wants to have the Grey Warden stuff.

The romance only has something to do with it because giving him the items gives you approval, and that's purely a game mechanic thing.

That's a stupid  game mechanic and should not be there....Finding useless items to start a romance or his/her personal quest is easily the most stupid game mechanic ever..

That's a matter of oppinion don't you think? I like the Witcher serise, I hope Wild hunt is everything they say it will be. I doubt it though, because they never are.

Came for the setting stayed for the combat with Dragons dogma. Yes well the witcher is fine but I dislike the main char and that makes it harder for me to play it thus I like DA series better. Its a shame the witcher doesn't have a char creator...

But the quest has nothing to do with the romance. Unless Blackwall secretly wanted to romance my male Inquisitors. All Inquisitors get it, regardless of gender or species.

You seem to think of that quest as something you do in exchange for sex/romance, but that's not what that quest is. That quest is something Blackwall wants regardless of wanting getting in your pants or not.

And honestly, you don't think it's realistic someone want to be a realitionship with you if they like you, and not if they don't? I think that's pretty spot on to be honest.

The proportions of his face have always looked off to me - something about that jaw is all wrong - and the corpse pallor doesn't help. It's really his attitude and personality that put me off, though, based on the single hour I spent playing the first game before I gave up and uninstalled it.

I'll have you know I thought he was gross back in early 2009 before DAO even came out.

Yeah it was a top quality sequence. Think bioware has a pretty decent record though.

The actual romance is tied to plot elements, that is, coupling with Triss or eventually Yen will have bigger repercussions than you 'failing' their romance or not. And like Sapkowski's take on it in the books, it's complicated with individual motivations. Triss meddling with the lodge and then trying to hide this from Geralt is a classic example. All the other conquest stuff in the games is so self aware and tongue and cheek it never offended me. If you want a more straight forward win or lose approach, then Bioware is just as guilty, if not more so for game-ifying the relationships.

Bioware simply lost a lot of scene cred after the EA acquisition, especially after DA2 and ME3. Many also hate the dumbing down of mechanics and some can't deal with the lgbt content.

Witcher romance scenes are epic like Game of Thrones ...That pool scene between Triss and Geralt was just amazing....

 

DAI sex scenes are dumbed down coz it's published by EA..lol. EA probably don't want super raunchy scenes in their games, whereas CD Red is independent, they don't care..They go all the way to make sex scenes super raunchy and mature like Game of Thrones..

... what else is a romance scene supposed to be, exactly? Well, you can lose the tub part, but the two horny people are a must. And I rather have this than "ride the Bull" or that nonsense with Sera about Inquisitor shaving her hoo-ha into a random pattern.

Anyway, games are always going to follow a completely unrealistic, fantasy concept of sex/relationships. Witcher aims for the straight male ideal of being big and strong and hot women will swoon and offer you sex, no strings attached. More realistic is that 60% would be too young/married/old/pregnant etc, 30% would be scared sh*tless/not interested/not wanting to be used and you get your choice of the last 10%. How many of those are young and gorgeous, during the implied medieval setting? Well, probably not that many.

 

Then again, DA isn't all that realistic either, but the fact that you have people who aren't interested in you, like Vivienne, or people who have set gender/race preferences does help. Also the age range is quite a nice point. 

 

It all just depends on exactly how much fantasy fulfilment you want in your games. For me, DA:i has hit a good enough balance, though I do wish there were more options to flirt with characters and get knocked back or more chances for NPC's to flirt with you so you can accept/reject them.
