Get Witcher 3 on PC if you can..Both PS4 and XO versions are 900p @ 30fps i think...
I will get W3 on PC only..Game will look better plus MODS
I'm not much of a stickler on graphics myself. I am, after all, playing the DA franchise on PS3 right now, so a PS4 is still going to feel like a substantial upgrade. Besides, my only computer is a Macbook Pro and it's as far removed from gaming duty as Nikki Minaj is from singing opera.
I barely got to act 2 of tw2 after buying it on steam sale it was just bad. Also I saw a lot of dragon age 2 rip offs in the story dandelion felt like varric and his re telling of the story.
Of course, CDProjekt introduced tons of new features in the last two months of development in an effort to rip-off DA 2 after witnessing its exceptionally positive reception.
Pretty sure the DA:I trailer gave you goosebumps too.
And after you've played the Witcher and found out it doesn't live up to the fantasy game you drew up in your mind, you'll find the next unreleased game to drool over and stalk people on the Witcher forums with it.
Have seen it countless times before: people like you have a few games from the past that they love, and always a game that hasn't been released yet that's going to be 'the next big thing'... until you finally get to play it.
Or it could end up genuinely being good... That happens every once in a blue moon I hear. It happened with Mass Effect 1 and DA:O for me.
Pretty sure the DA:I trailer gave you goosebumps too.
Nope..DAI trailers were not at all impressive...I bought DAI after checking out the reviews.
Iam excited for W3 coz i really enjoyed W2 plus i respect CD red as a developer....Game is not even out yet and they already announced 16 free DLC content for everyone

I honestly was thinking the same thing but it felt like deja vu. I was like how is this so similar?

I actually started Witcher (first one) two days ago and already 4 women wanted to sleep with me. Most of the situation didn't even make sense, like witch is in danger to be burn to death and then suddenly she wants to have sex with Geralt in the gave to show that she's good human being? Like the whole situation was just so absurd XD At least DA series has real romances instead of sleeping with anyone you meet with no feelings involved.
I'm not familiar with scened in Witcher 2 but I don't like the whole wibe of sex in the Witcher. It doesn't have any feelings in it and thus meaningless to me.

Dandelion was introduced in The Witcher novels by Andrzej Sapkowski and those books were released in the 90s -.-
Also Witcher 2 was only released 2 months after DA2.

Also was the first witcher game back in 2007 long before origins was out, and Dandellon has some stories in that one also, they just where able to show off his personaility better in 2. But yeah, trying to say one fantasy series is rip off another is normally pointless, so just ignore those people...cause in the end everyone draws from the same well with fantasy just different takes and stories, and worlds in the end, but all unqiue in their own way.

The Witcher I think was 1986 and it was later replaced with the more commonly known The Last Wish novel. The concept of a bard character isn't new by any means. Dungeon and Dragons introduced the bard into their gaming system in 1974.
No, if you consider my argument to be less valuable because some stupid people on tumblr use the same terms as I then you're an a**hole.
Your opinion becomes less valuable when you throw around meaningless terms like "privilege". If you can't make your statement without painting one side or the other as inherently negative in-context, then what you say isn't worth listening to, because you can count on it being emotionally charged instead of steeped in logic. You aren't going to persuade anyone with that idiotic language, the only people who will listen to you are the people who are already of the same opinion, which gets you nowhere in a debate.

This trailer gives me Goosebumps..What do you think? Impressive huh ? Now will you buy Witcher 3?
Dude, there are Bioware fanboys (or girls, in my case) who ARE excited for Witcher 3. Mind-boggling, I know.
This may shatter your world view completely, but... I thought Witcher 2's plot was way superior to any Dragon Age game. Perhaps even any Bioware game in general. Because the main story is not Bioware's strength at all. The Archdemon was generic fantasy garbage tbh. Bioware is famous for EMOTIONAL character drama. Bioware games are all about the companions. And THAT's where The Witcher is seriously lacking because it's a different type if game.
These two franchises have very little in common. And that's perfectly fine!
I LOVED W2 (haven't played W1 yet). One of the best RPGs I've ever played. Very well presented story, realistic and complex. Great characters, BUT the game lacks the "Bioware magic" that gets me emotionally invested because there is little to get invested in. I don't particularly like Geralt. He's so detached and indifferent, even when you try to play him with an opinion. There are no companions in the Bioware sense, and therefore there is no real banter. W2 has great characters but your interactions with them lack emotion. It's a very political game. Very different from Dragon Age which is more about the people you bond with. It's on a personal level while Witcher is like a great game of chess.
I felt like playing a guy game every second of it (rolled my eyes at the sex scene), and that's FINE. Not just because Geralt gets all the girls. The entire presentation of the plot is no-emotional-nonsense style. Characters have their plans and go though with them. The game doesn't waste time seeing characters struggle with self-doubt or daddy issues. I'm pretty sure a lot of people, maybe even most people, like it and prefer this way.
Bioware games are a special type of experience that isn't for everyone. The Witcher appeals to a broader audience because the franchise is more... neutral? It's just a great epic story with a cool protagonist. Bioware games are very concerned with morality and that annoys certain people. The Witcher doesn't push a message.
Now, I can understand why a lot of Bioware fans might not like The Witcher, and vice versa. I enjoy both for different reasons, but ultimately I prefer Bioware's moralistic tales on an emotional level. W2 was vastly superior to DA2, though. And I wish Bioware would get a bit more original with their main stories.
About sexism: yeah, Witcher is a game directed at straight men to an almost comical degree. But that doesn't ruin a great game for me. I simply chose not to have sex with random women, problem solved. And I actually like Triss a lot. She's a strong woman, I have no issues with her character whatsoever. And while she and Geralt are more like friends with benefits, I enjoy their relationship. And I always felt that Geralt cares a great deal about Triss. She was basically the ONLY thing he cared about in W2. The rest he just happened to get stuck with.
I really wish people were less black and white about this. Neither franchise is perfect. Both are great in their own way.
In DA:O I disagreed with Morrigan about pretty much everything, but once I gave her enough jewelry we had sex in our underwear. With Merrill it was more hate sex I guess but still sex in underwear. I'm not saying CD Projekt Red approaches "romances" in the best way (sex cards anyone?), but Bioware romances aren't really any "deeper" IMO. The best relationship Bioware has ever done in my opinion is Shepard and Garrus, the non-romantic version. It feels like a genuine friendship instead of being forced like Hawke and Varric are.
the sex cards ONLY happen in The witcher 1, that doesnt' happen The Witcher 2, and yes I've played the second one not the first one.
so get off this card crap... and so what? In alot of ways its more realistic, he isn't doing it to 'romance' them he is doing it to have 'sex' with them. Sex =/= Romance. And Romance =/= Sex. Because if you are getting married to have sex, you are very sorely mistaken.
