I played both Witcher games and they are good but for me nowhere as good as DA games. Especially the romance areas. Firstly Personally dont enjoy experiencing romance from the male pov as much as I like creating my own female and roleplaying the story and romance/relationship arcs that way.

 

I agree with many others here that the witcher scenes are mostly gratuitous type scenes with little emotions felt. I sure didn't feel much 'romance'  when I played as Gerault, can't say I liked him too much, for sure he doesn't deserve Triss, I'd much prefer to play as her.

 

There was one scene I remember that had a slight romance feel to it in Witcher 2, they were in the eleven bath together- I felt that scene was really romantic. The only one in both games I liked.

 

In my opinion as a lady Bioware does romance SO MUCH BETTER!    

 

(Plus very few developers bother with the expense of creating games we can play as male or female main protagonist- I love that so much!)

In my opinion as a lady Bioware does romance SO MUCH BETTER!

They could make romance even better if they improve character animation lil bit...My character face was clipping through Cullen during romance scene and same happened during Iron Bull scene scene....lol...

Just to clarify something: A lot of people seem to have this misconception about the relationship between Geralt and Yennefer/Triss, thinking that both ladies are completely faithful to Geralt who is just a jerk, and cheats on them constantly. In fact the girls are pretty promiscuous and sleep around as often as Geralt. What CD Project failed to empathize is that there is a clear division between sex and actual romantic feelings in the Witcher universe. Sex is pretty much a fun recreational activity. In the books many dwarves and elfs comment on how humans seem to be horny all the time (due to their short lifespans iirc). 

 

So it's really kinda pointless to compare the two as Dragon Age goes for something different with the romances than the Witcher and they would both suffer from trying to mimic the other.

Witcher 1 and 2 doesn't have real romances, because Yennefer, Geralts girlfriend isn't in the games. He is a chick magnet, and Triss tries to attract him, but his real family Ciri and Yennefer will appear for the first time in Witcher 3.

You couldn't even see pants because Geralt is never the focus in sex scenes. It's always ****** and butts and the woman's face in front of camera.

But do explain why he wakes up with pants on and the women are always the naked ones? The tent scene was the most hilarious scene ever, after the ME3 shower scene.

 

 

Also ME3 scenes sucked, even in Liara's scene, Shepard was still wearing her bra which was annoying as hell.

And in the games she uses Geralt's amnesia to her advantage knowing that Geralt loved Yennefer.

No Cole's backstory,Orlais,Celene and Briala are all important things the game handles terribly.

 

And you can also still enjoy The Witcher without reading the books.
