I'm currently on this quest and I was wondering whether there was unique dialogue for some of your companions. For instance, I'm considering bringing Dorian since the Venatori are involved but he hasn't really intervened that much in previous encounters with the Venatori. I'm bringing Blackwall regardless and Varric too since Hawke's involved. Any thoughts?

I took Dorian with me. He sounded pretty nervous being there with the whole Magister's past et al. I don't think any companion expresses happiness at being there. I think he says a few witty remarks as well cause that's how he deals with stuff. Iron Bull is just plain scared which is funny to hear him rant. Someone says Sera is funny as well as she totally hates it. I guess it's about what you are looking for.

When I do it again, I'm definitely taking Cassandra.

Bringing Solas along is a very good idea. However, I don't want to spoil the quest arc for you, so I won't say why.

Would that be romance-related or simply to hear her dialogue?

Solas is usually my first choice for mage.

Someone is met in the Fade that Cassandra is interested in meeting. Eh, took Blackwall personally as it makes little difference.
Solas is usually my first choice for mage.
Dorian kind of freaks out afterwards, so I guess bringing him along is worth that.

When I did it, I took:
Blackwall - He's a Warden, after all......
Dorian - I wanted him there because of the Tevinter connection
Varric - Why wouldn't I bring him with me given that it was his BFF's quest
They all had a little unique dialogue, but nothing groundbreaking.

I took Varric to hear some dialogue between him and Hawke and got none. When Hawke says she will talk to the Wardens, she says, "Take care of Varric", when the guy is standing right there. Whatever.

Cassandra probably the best to take. Sera and Iron Bull if you want some lulz. Blackwall for Warden stuff. You get some extra dialogue choices from him being there.

I brought Blackwall (Warden), Dorian (Tevinter stuff), and Cole (liked his damage)
I was really glad I brought Cole. I was very sad I didn't bring Solas.

I took Cassandra, Blackwall and Solas. They all seemed very plot relevant to me, and worked very well together ![]()

Thanks for all the replies! I decided to take a little detour first and killed the dragon in Emerald Graves to get some decent armour (an Inquisitor needs to look the part!). Alas, it's more or less the same I have already. ![]()

Plot related, not romance.

I brought:
-Varric because of Hawke
-Blackwall because he's a warden (his speech is awesome)
-Iron Bull because I didn't expect to go into the fade, I thought it would be bloody combat around the castle and Bull is pretty much made for that. He was funny in the fade though

I plan to bring Iron Bull this time because I'm romancing him, plus Varric because of Hawke, and probably Cole as well.
Bull is awesome in the fade, definitely something you can look forward to.

I brought Cassandra, Dorian, and Blackwall. No regrets about Cassandra and Dorian, but Blackwall was pretty underwhelming. If he did anything, it wasn't memorable for me because I can't recall.

Damn, I had most of my companions disapprove when I gave the Wardens another chance. The alternative, exile, seemed pointless to me since they wouldn't help the Inquisition then.

Come to think of it, I wish I could've explained why I'm letting the Wardens stay instead of exiling them. We should've passed sentence back at Skyhold, not in the middle of the battlefield.

They talk about Night Terrors
Yeah forgot about that. It was only a couple of lines I believe. I was hoping for more dialogue between the two characters

I brought Dorian (because he's my Inquisitor's lover). Cole (I bring him everywhere. Wasn't heartbreaking at all.), and Iron Bull (I needed a warrior and he loves demons.)
