Promote.
I know it's not perfect, but it gets the job done. You just have to stick it out to 20.

No.
Getting to 20 is like three times as long compared to ME3 and they gave u respec in ME3.

They should at least add the option of restarting a character at level 1, no matter what level you were before.
If you made a wrong skill decision at level 9, you have to grind the levels 10-20 with a character you are unhappy with, just to throw him away and reset the skills. That's just bad game design which will lead to a lot of people quitting.

Already promoted 7 times, and I'm sure there are people who have promoted more than 20 times. It is not so hard.

Just because you can promote does not mean there should not be an option to respec as well. Seriously, who would it hurt?

I would rather respec cards again than some of these potions I never use. You get my +1

I dont know why they wouldnt offer unlimited free resets to begin with.
A. They're not very transparent with how skills work. EG. Hidden blades(Assassin) is a ranged atk.
B. Skills are already not permanent.
C. Only having 4 skill slots is already very limiting in how you build your character.
D. You can't change skills mid game anyway.
E. This isnt a competitive game in a sense, so having a bad build doesnt only hurt you but your whole team.

The one benefit I see to not offering respecs is that it's a reward for promoting. It's something to help motivate you to reach 20. It also makes skill choices important and in some ways promotes exploring new builds. I mean, if you've got a skill that doesn't really work with the way you're playing, you might as well tinker a bit more and try to find a way to get it to work.
That aside, I've spent a fair amount of time on every class save Keeper and Templar and I haven't found a build that was completely screwed because I spent a few skill points where I shouldn't have. Most builds fill out by around 15, leaving you plenty of room to grab a skill to try out without penalizing you too hard.
So I don't know, I kind of fall on the fence on this one. On the one hand, I've got some crazy build ideas I'd like to try out, other the other though, I feel like promoting would lose some of what makes it special.

Respec consumable will happen eventually.
DLC, DLC, DLC, DLC, oh wait...., Bioware said that all DAMP DLCs will be free... Never mind...

Even in ME3MP, I used respec just to play. Lvl 20 is a grind for the Routine player. Especially with a crappy build

Quite the opposite. Since it takes a while to level up, most people would rather stick with a flawed build. Respec cards on the other hand aid experimentation.

Also the greater motivation for promoting is the additional stat points, and I feel like maybe a free chest should be thrown in as incentive, but nothing worse than having to grind a few hours just to try a new build.

No respec card is decision on par with no Push to talk,in other words it has to be patched for better player experience.

Yes, respec needed, also faster leveling 10+. Promoting is fun and all but having now done it over 10 times it's already getting tiring with the slow 10-20 grind.

10-20 is fine. I managed to get a character from lvl18 to 20, and back to 20 in one day running routine and threatening in PUGs. This is also including i couldnt play a good portion of the day due to connection issues.

I agree. Levelling is slower in DA:I than ME 3, and ME 3 had respec cards.
I think, as has been said, you should have the option to reset a character at any point, but just don't receive the stat bonus that you do from promotion. I don't see how it would harm the game in any way.

I'm fine with it actually. I messed up my reaver. Had to level it to 20 and suffer. The lesson sticks better this way.
