Hey guys, I need a little help please.

I have two quests and I'm not sure which to choose (and if I have to). One is called Champions of the Just (on the war table), and it says something like if I choose the templars I will no longer be able to ask the Mages for help. On the other hand I have a quest (which I don't remember the name right now) close to Redcliff where a woman mage (that I also forgot the name, sorry about that) told me she wants to talk about joining the Inquisition (along with the Mages).

Is this the moment I have to choose between one or the other? I can't enter Redcliff without going through that quest, and the Champions one seems to be very important... I don't know what to do.

Thank you all!

Neither is more important than the other, but yes you can only choose one. One is about going to ask mages for support, and the other is for templars.

You can go into Redcliffe, the Mage quest doesnt "officially" start until you activate it on the war table like the Champion of the Just.

There will be a briefing before you start either so until you actually activate you can do whatever.

Mages CHOSE to ally with Tevinter (and the Venatori), and deserves no mercy. The corruption of the Templars were forced upon them. Always the Templars.

Fiona decided that for the Mages, not all the mages want to be indentured servants. The same moral story is true for the templars, Lord Seeker is not giving any choice, his templars HAVE to follow him, or they are traitors, IE Cullen. Of course the templars are a military order where as the mages are an institution so, you could say the templars should follow the orders of their superiors.

Templars, always Templars.

Fiona is awful, Barris is awesome, and the mission is so much more cool for the Templars.

Purge all the mages. Magic is a cancer in the heart of our land, just as it was in the time of Andraste. And like her, we are left with no choice but to purify it with fire and blood.

I thought they were both pretty epic, with that said, out of the two choices at the end for both you can probably accomplish more for mages in the grand scheme of things if you go with templars and make a particular choice.

I'm playing a mage, actually I aways have, and I tend to choose the mage's side, in this case, however, the decision is not clear because my "advisors" don't actually have anything to advise me about it... I know little about the templars leader and even less about this Fiona (thank you for remind me), aside from the fact that Vivienne mentioned something about her and if I remember well, it was not good, and she didn't seem trustworthy, but the templars leader seemed to be too conceited...

What is this story about the mages allying with the Tevinters? Is that history or you get to know that after you choose the mages? Because I would hate to know I chose the wrong side...

To be honest I never liked the Templars too much, depriving the mages from their freedom (I understand about the danger and all) and at the same time I hated when I chose the mages in DA2 and Orsino went for Blood Mage in the last moment (that ******, I killed him with a smile on my face).

Let's say I'm a mage that agrees with the templars, but I don't think that choosing them would be honest with my "brothers".

Help meeeeeeeee!!

You answered your own question already. You agree with the templars, so go join them. Its the only way to restore order.

The choice doesn't matter in the long run, just pick which one you want to. The New Divine decides most of these anyway.

Anyway, played Champions of the Just, loved it. Thought Barris was one of the best Templars met to date. Did Hushed Whispers and hated myself.

tldr; **** Hushed Whispers.

Go and talk to her in Redcliffe first, though. Even if you plan to choose the Templars.

Well consider this. One is a group of beings with powers beyond the scope of mortal ken and the others are a bunch of metal-clad douches. It's not a hard choice, magic or a bit of sharp metal :P

To be fair, she was manipulated into deciding that.

Nothing wrong there. Mages can become immortal through magic. Many were at one point.

Except not a single mage alive today is immortal because of their own power, and most certainly not the ones that help close the Breach.

I was afraid if I did that the other quest would be cancelled. I will talk to her first then.

But the discussion is helping a lot, thank you guys!

Still have better and more useful skills than the templars for the job.

And after the breach is closed you have the entire templar order united under your command, which is extremely helpfull against demons. Mages are a bunch of unorganized rebels and at least half of them would probably get possessed somehow. The other half probably uses blood magic....

And the templar order turn into violent paranoid crazies by having red lyrium next to them, which happens to grow like weeds.

That must be why those who chose the Templars can't complete the game... Oh wait...
