Not that well.

Your partymembers seemed pretty fine for people having been exposed to red lyrium for a whole year and most likely tortured.

Leliana was the only one who seemed as troubled as one would expect.

I mean Cassandra has an excuse being a Seeker. Solas is Solas. Don't know about anyone else having an excuse.

Oh I agree, but I see some positives in the Mage mission also

It was pretty messed to learn what they did with the Tranquils

Oh there are. I just didn't find it as good as the templar mission.

Plus

It was :( I felt so bad I left that tranquil dude behind after that.

I'd take Venatori mages any day over Red Templar Shadows, Knights or Horrors. Especially the Shadows.

Oh yeah the shadows... >_>

I don't know I find that freaking fire mine spamming more annoying.

Still siding with mages. Glad my ending let me make them free. I enjoyed taking down the templars.

Those Shadows can attack through barriers. The KE's one weakness. Of course by the time you face them pro-Templar side you can dominate anything with the right party.

Oh yeah that's nice and all.

But you get glimpses of that with Champions of the Just. And it's done better. Without time travel bs.

That nightmare sequence actually had some horror to it, when you see what your evil self / Envy could or would do with the Inquisition.

"Four days without food, one without water. I just wish the Herald would tell me what he wants me to confess!"

I actually felt somewhat shaken.

Maybe the Mass Effect team should take notes lol.

Oh yeah maybe that's why. I was getting constant slowmo from all the combos (Freaking rift mage = LOL)

Can they? I wasn't sure if it was that or if their burst combo is just so insane that they can pretty much remove barriers (and then your kidneys) instantly.

Upper tier Red Templar mobs in general seem to eat barriers for breakfast.

If they really do that much damage it's worse than I thought. The point is kill them. Quickly.

I have a hard time buying even Cassandra seeming as fine as she did, despite her training. I admit I have only done the mission with Varric and Cassandra as the other partymembers, but they seemed to be in a too clear state of mind considering the events. I am not saying they should be gibbering lunatics (we need their future selfs to be partymembers for the mission after all) but at least show them far more mentally broken than they were.

The only one I could buy being somewhat okay is Solasm, because he is Solas.

Spoiler

I am not sure what you mean.

Oh yikes. Maybe the Ventaori aren't that bad. At lvl 14 they're pretty much a joke and the only way I'm dying is if I go into the fight low on potions and let the AI do most of the work (god I hate how freaking moronic the AI is).

Seekers are immune to the effects of red lyrium. I'm sure after a year that might change somewhat, but still.

You will understand if you have finished the game.  I was spoiled, so I knew before going into that mission.

Are they? I must have missed that.

Even then, a year of isolation, perhaps only interrupted by beatings or interrogations, on top of knowing that you have failed and that the world has ended would still leave one mentally scarred I'd imagine.

There's more to it than that.  You apparently find out in Cass' romance.

Not really her romance, just her personal quest in general

Why?

Why are they immune to possession? Mind control? Why can they set lyrium on fire? Why do any of their powers make sense? Reasons.

I know that the seekers have special abilities beyond what templars can do, like being immune to blood magic mind control IIRC. I just must have missed it also making them resistant over to red lyrium.

Why are they immune to possession?

Unless there's a book I haven't read that gives Templars godlike powers, I'm going to go by what we see in DAII (which has an unreliable narrator) and Origins (which does not) and say "because they aren't."

No one is immune to blood magic, it's power vs power. If the spell didn't work then it means that a scrub tried to mind-control someone who is out of their league.
