Hey!

Long time Dragon Age and Bioware fan, going all the way back to KoTOR, this is also my first post on a forum. I bought the digital deluxe edition for 90 Australian dollars a few days ago, which is insanely expensive by most standards but I figured after DA2, Inquisition would be in a much much more polished and playable state at release. This isn't Ubisoft after all. However, the first day I had it, I couldn't get it to launch at all. The shortcut started the process (I had the task manager open) it would think for a few seconds then just stop. This persisted all night until eventually I just gave up and went to bed.

Next day, for some reason it decided to run. However, it freezes every time either before I get a chance to click the start button or a few seconds after. After some fiddling I discovered that it will work occasionally if I disable one of my cores, which is a little agitating as you need to launch the game, disable the core then hope it doesn't freeze again. If it does freeze it needs to be killed with the task manager and liberal amounts of fire.

Eventually, finally, make it into a game. Create my pretty little Dalish elf, start the tutorial, autosave cirlce, crash. Spend another 40 minutes wrestling with my menu to get back into the god damn game and eventually manage to finish the tutorial. Get to Haven, ass around there for a while then remember I should have some DLC. . . Google where it's meant to be, in my house? Next to my bed? Nope. Isn't there. More Google, try saving and restarting (Which is quite the task) blah blah blah, no DLC that's meant to be there. . .

Not sure where my extra 20 dollars have gone, I know there is also some more DLC stuff later on, but I haven't managed to get that far yet. Not for lack of trying I can assure you.

Also can't help but notice I can't play with my stats? I was hoping for a return to the DA:O style of character management. It was simple and elegantly effective. Also, what the hell is up with the PC controls? Enemy respawn times are also insanely short, I find myself having to battle my way through enemies as new ones just APPEAR behind nearby, or in some cases right on top of you.

Did EA rush the release or did they actually think this was finished and in a fit state to be sold for money? I've noticed lately an increase in 'Triple A' titles being released in horrible states, buggy as hell or with awful ports, or all three.

Apologies on the rant but this is probably the roughest time I've ever had getting things to run stable and this includes Dungeon Keeper and DK2 as well as Warcraft 2. . .
