Im glad they bring her as a companion. And i came to like her when i noticed that she is not entire cold and b....*.

She is probably one of the best character with Dorian, Blackwall, and Cole.

One thing the relationship between the companions will evolve in a positive way if u interfer during the conflict they can have.

I had to do that a lot with dorian-sera-blackwall trio.

I'm barely past the Western approach and I can see how much of a fraud the guy is. That being said "Blackwall!!!!" is the best after beating a boss down battlecry and Blackwall can fight better than Cass any day but man I'm such a Warden fan and the way Bioware has made them go downhill game wise "sigh".

As for Viv yeah I guess I should use her more with Cole then just like I used to with Zevran and Wynne and Oghern.

I agree OP i hate her too, everything i despise in a female all rolled up in one package, its a shame we cannot remove her...I've used her like twice since recruiting her and i'm 60 hours in..

And to the poster who said she reminds them of Emma Frost of the hellfire club, yes you're dead right i hate her too and to this day i will not associate her ever with the X-men..

Horrible person..just like the combat controls.. should be removed..

Damn... I must be among the weird bunch. I rather adore Vivienne. I have an agree disagree disposition to her views and some of the actions she has taken in life, however, I can't bring myself to judge her; to call her a b**** as the rest of any DA:I community so eloquently puts it.

Funnily enough, she is quite nasty to the party, but over time she ends up getting along well with Varric, Cassandra, The Iron Bull, and even Dorian, to an extent. That's basically half the cast. Not everyone should, nor would I expect them to, get along just because they are fighting on the same side. She even starts to tolerate Cole to an extent.

She is one of the few characters in the whole series who can rationalize their point, and well enough to show it is highly logical. For instance, the matter with Mages. I agree the circle should he reinstated but it, much like most orders in Thedas, needs to be rebuilt fr the ground up. A unified leadership and center of command throughout all circlr orders and none of this by city nonsense Mages deal with now. Any abuse of power will be punished. Those who follow the rules keep their freedoms. Monitored but not leashed as the point of their power going out of control or being possessed (as been stated throughout the series, a mage doesnt have to do much more than breath to risk being possessed) by some spirit is a valid one that can be argued against.

Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly (please tell me if I am), but I thought this is what Cassandra did when made Divine. It was Leliana who wanted the Circles totally abolished. And Vivienne wanted to make them more or less what they were before with relatively minor changes.

Glad I'm not alone in hating her, I even hate her more than Anora which I didn't think was possible. I only recruit her to get Inquisition agent in Hinterlands and never use her after that. Hope the modders out there are listening and make our dream of ejecting the troll from Skyhold possible.

Well, she has her own agenda for joining you in the first place so it sort of makes sense that you can't force her to leave.

And you can recruit that Hinterlands agent yourself if you have the right perks.

Cassandra and Vivienne both do something similar but in Viviennes case she lets the mages police the mages. Vivienne basically creates Tevinter in the south from how it is described whereas Cassandra rebuilds all three orders (Seekers, Templars, and fhe Circle)

Spoiler

I got additional dialog with the agent with the Arcane Knowledge perk but I still had to have Vivienne in the party before she would accept becoming an agent. I was able to recruit her myself but Vivienne had to be present in the party. This was during my female elf mage play-through. It was the same with the cleric imposter in Redcliff. I was able to talk to her about it but until I had Cassandra in the party she would not join the Inquisition. Perhaps you have to be past the Hinterlands for it to work? Or it's another "bug".

Can someone tell me what's so bad about Vivienne? Two playthroughs and I don't see it. I think her saying darling and my dear can be pretty annoying but I don't think that's enough to garner hate.

I have a complex relationship with Vivienne. On the one hand, I respect and admire her determination and her resourcefulness. On the other, she never introduces me to her seamstress! That is unacceptable!

I hated the fact that just to get her approval and side quests I had to lie about the circles being good, I didn't want to do that but she greatly disapproves if I don't

^^ You don't have to support the Circle system, you just have to be evasive. She approves of the choices that say that you want to restore order, too. I've managed to get her up to max on 4 separate playthroughs without ever once telling her that I support the Circles.

- During the first conversation, tell her "This chaos hurts everybody." That nets a Greatly Approves, and it isn't pro-Circle.

- After making the mages full allies, you can win back twice the approval you lost by telling her that the you support mages as chantry clerics and by saying that you want the mages watched.

- Vivienne respects power and appearances, too, so it's possible to gain a great deal of approval by telling her that you'll heed her advice about keeping up appearances.
