How do you get yourself motivated to go it alone?

Honestly, I soloed platinum once and I have absolutely no desire to do it again. Not so much loneliness as tedium. I'm good enough to solo platinum but not good enough to do it FAST, so I'd rather just not.

Don't use the Cabal (at least not against Reapers) if you want to solo faster, only 3 kits have a slower average completion time. Also, Giant is an easy map but not particularly quick.

 

If you faced Cerberus on White I think you might surprise yourself by how fast you can complete it.

I feeI the same way. I have not done a solo for more than a year now. I just lose interest after finishing Wave 5 at max. I just don't have the patience or the desire for doing objectives by myself anymore. Playing with someone else even if the other players are almost useless is infinitely better experience for me than doing a solo. I don't mind carrying inexperienced players and reviving them many times. I just like other players being involved in the game as much as possible and I also like to demonstrate how to play correctly, and give them the satisfying feeling of having just completed a great match.

I've solo'd it 8x now, it's a great feeling to have a faster time than the players who you look up to and are absolutely 10x better than you.

That's probably the problem, you want to solo for bad reasons, while you don't really like it. That's why you feel bored and lonely.

 

As far as I know the regular posters in the platinum solos thread, they really like soloing, they don't do that to increase their e-peen (well, maybe a little, but that's not their MAIN motivation).
