The game is unplayable because you will eventually get to a point where you cannot progress any farther.  I'm stuck at the final fight in the Fade against the Fear demon and I cannot progress passed this because the game crashes to the desktop with no error message every time.  I've tried to do it more than 20 times, and done everything I can think of to fix it.  I've turn the graphics to the lowest settings, but nothing works.

This is just the worst of the glitches, but the game is riddled with minor ones as well.  I ignored those for my 60+ hours of gameplay, until I came to this point.

FIX YOUR DAMN GAME!  I paid for a finished product.  I don't want to beta test an unfinished piece of garbage.

I agree, this is unplayable. I can't even get to the unfinishable game because the main menu freezes almost every time.

Ouch I never buy digital especially with an EA  game. There are the odd arcade game i get now and again, a Bethesda game because we know we are in good hands and The Last Of Us just because it's bloody amazing but other than that i do not like the digital prices for us console owners, they are a disgrace. Look at Steam and the PC given you have a good build can give you the best visual performance and then also mods to make the game replayable so many more times. Mainly becauise of price though, i do not want them to think it's ok to be charging us the kind of money they do with a warning telling us the game is non refundable no matter what ,bloody cheek.

Yea I didn't even notice that god damned EA was involved until after I bought the bloody thing. :P I've only been paying cursory attention, been drooling all over Pillars of Eternity and playing Icewind Dale Enhanced and Baldur's Gate Enhanced. :D

I would be ashamed to have my name attached to this title in it's current state. It shouldn't have been released like this. . . It's like catching grandma half naked. You didn't want to see her like that and you'll never be able to forget it. No matter how much clothing you throw on her.

I understand your frustration. You do have options, however.

1. Go to the tech support forums to seek aid. They may have a solution ready. You will need to specify

your hardware, OS and driver version number(s). It could be as simple as reducing your graphics settings, turn off mantle or cleaning up your nVIDIA device drives from the DEVICE Manager in the PC.

2. Or,

You can rant and rave and do nothing until a patch arrives that may or may not fix your specific issue.  Bioware tech support teams can never looked into your problem unless you report it. Game crashing is consired a severity one.. top priority, must fix now!

It is unfortunate how things stand, today. Consoles vendors (PS3, PS4, 360 and the X1) and the PC GPU vensors are working with EA/Bioware to resolve as many issues as they can, as quickly as they can. I'm sure no one 'over there" wants this.

Good luck

What's that idiom?  "... fool me once, shame on me....". Well, I pre-ordered as well. Fortunately, so far, I can play the game in casual mode. Anything above that and I'm toast given the current state of affairs with KB+M + lack of 'proper' tactics.

Go to the tech support forum for help.

OP BINGO!

If my company did this we woyld lose contracts and soon be out of business. Bioware/EA is just going to disenfranchise it's customer base and eventually be abandoned. After the BS ending in DA2 i swore i wouldn't buy another game in the series . . . But i did. Granted, im still enjoying it, but i am stopping all the time to bug report. This is just like beta testing . . . But i ****** paid to do it? To hell with that. I expect a spitshine polish at 60$ a pop.

The difference is they are good with customer support, they talk to their customers in the forums letting them know they are listening and what they are working on to get things fixed, i have seen barely any of that with EA

Also, the bugs in the ES series are, for lack of a better term, honest bugs, mistakes that they eventually fix. Quest glitches of just crashing for whatever reason. Those are understandable in such a complex game. I replayed Skyrim a few months ago and I don't think I hit a single snag. Frame rate drop once every few hours or so. Meh.

The problems arising in DAI for me are fundamental design flaws that working as they were intended. The tactical camera, for an oft mentioned example. It does things that required Bioware lots of extra code to do, like treating it like a real camera on a drone that has to avoid objects in the game world. Very clever, actually, but it renders the camera utterly useless in some battles. They did extra work to make something in the game I'll suited to its intended purpose, and it's something that should not have passed one round of beta testing.

Exactly, there are still quests in Dragon Age Origins that can not be finished. I can't remember which ones exactly but i am sure 2 of them were things you had to do in Redcliffe.

Plus the bug that says you kill Isolde no matter what you do. The Awakenings inventory bug that destroys your armour and weapons.

As my game has only CTD a single time, at the exact same time a scheduled background maintenance program started to run, I cannot really blame the game like some others seem to do. My game has been working fine, though there are some tweeks that could be made to improve things, but this can be said of many games.

They clearly didn't test this thoroughly.

I could live with some of the bugs for example like the sound of me walking or doing an attack not working but by quickly jumping in and out of the potions radial menu fixes it but the bugs i am away to list should have been fixed for sure before release.

The radial menu for potions becoming completely unusable until you fast travel or exit to the main menu which can end up in you dying if you are in a temple where you have no choice of fast travel and with no use of the potions menu unable to use health potions etc.

Enemies not taking any damage at all no matter if they are a higher or lower level than you. This combined with the bug above in a temple with no fast travel would obviously end up in a disaster.

Unable to finish quests such as The Trouble With Darkspawn where you should be able to talk to Servis but can't so the quest can not be finished.

Tactics not working in 2 different ways. 1. I made Vivienne a spirit mage so that she would be using the barrier spell etc to keep the party healthy and not using up all the potions but all of a sudden she has just stopped using Barrier all together even when i went in to the tactics settings and put a star next to it she still doesn't use it when before the first thing she would do when getting in to a fight would be to put a barrier up on the entire party and that was without the spell being set with a star next to it, just a tick. 2. When trying to use tactical mode in battles the actions are ignored, for example i will set up my mage to use the Revival spell on a fallen party member to revive them then on the PS4 you hold down R2 to advance the battle and the spell does not get cast she will just revert back to casting the normal attack no matter how many times i try to use a spell she just ignores it and obviously when a party member is down the tactical mode is the best place to use this kind of spell essentially pausing the battle and allowing you to set up the spell without being attacked, it also gives you an over head view making it easier to find your fallen party member but it's absolutely pointless if she wont cast the damn thing no matter how many times i set it up she just wont do it!

Dialogue sometimes completely skipping or freezing up where you have to wait 5+ minutes for the conversation to start up again or if it wont play you have to skip it. Extremely frustrating if you are in a main quest or an inner circle quest where the conversation is going to be more important and interesting than other side quests.

I have had other bugs but can't remember them off the top of my head but these are the main ones that i think are important as they affect the way the game is played.

And to think that if DA:I were actually moddable and had a vibrant and dynamic nexxus page, the modders there could have fixed this game before Bioware even releases the first patch.  I made the mistake of assuming that DA:I would be moddable and failed to really look into that aspect of it before I pre-ordered the deluxe edition. So much for due-dilligence on my part.

Why is it unable to be modded? I mean i am on PS4, goes without saying really with my avatar lol. But i am just curious as to why this can not be modded?

I used to have an awesome gaming PC i spent a crap load of money on but sold it, total regret! But if i do build one again i would like to get Skyrim for example to play with all the awesome mods i have seen for it. I would also do the same with this game given the chance.
