Or maybe they didn't want to announce combos were fixed until they were sure they were all fixed.
Seriously, I realize that the douchebag gamer is a cliche at this point. But can we try not to be raging dicks all the damn time?


If you'd like to join me in the attempt, I think that's entirely doable.

As for Pull of the Abyss, I've since witnessed it happen a few times to Solas while using him, so looks like it's still occurring. Doesn't seem as frequent, however.

Grappling Chain

  • Occasionally has no effect (independent of shields, physical immunity, etc.) see video here.
  • "The basic version doesn't do 100% weapon damage as indicated by the UI. Give Them the Boot upgrade only does 100% weapon damage and not 200% (or 300% if added to base), it applies knockdown and not a stun, which is why it can't prime combos" (Swin)

 

Did a bit of testing on this tonight. It seems more responsive towards most enemies, though it can't pull Wraiths (I'd wager that's a mechanic though). It also does not work on Rams and Nugs, though it will work on Fennecs.

 

The tooltip has also been fixed, i.e. it says the the base ability does no damage.

 

The damage for the kick looks like 200%, but still only knocks down instead of stunning.

This is my experience as well based on play last night. My Rift Mage had it happen just once over the course of a few hours play where previously it could be every other use (or more).

I will buy DLC when all this issues are solved, and only if they are solved.

What a huge disappointment from a company like Bioware. It is so unprofessional to have the whole combat of the game a joke plagued with bugs and typos.

I don't know if this is intended but Cooldown reduction amulet actually reduces cooldowns of the entire party and not only the ones of who is wearing it

 

PS: we need more CDR items!

Can confirm that armor talents are now providing armor to FRONT armor as well. Trust the Steel And adamant now work. Also guard increasing talents work. The champion one and untouchable defense in the vanguard tree. Have not tested death blow or stone fist. I will tonight

Upgraded Grappling Chain still does not stun. Upgrade to pay back strike doesn't stun either. They both knock down as usual and do proper damage.

i think the description is wrong and knockdown is what they wanted. they should fix descriptions not the abilities

Probably should mention that amulets of power are not always spawning.

 

So far the following have not spawned for me post-patch 5:

 

1) Cole's amulet from Imshael

2) Inquisitor amulet from broken mirror in the fade (during Here Lies the Abyss)

3) Varric's amulet in Valammar

 

Other's have reported that high dragons no longer contain amulet of power as part of loot (for Iron Bull, etc).

 

I did see Blackwall's amulet in Adamant though.

Yep, the exploit is gone.  So not only did they rob of us amulets of power that were supposed to be available, they removed the exploit that would have allowed us to compensate for their bug.

That's annoying. The amulets don't bug me so much since they're pretty unnecessary anyways, you have skill points coming out your ears by the end of the game. What bugs me is that now I can't farm rune materials and schematics. There is a very finite number of elemental runes that can be made and getting all schematics is more or less impossible (and how many you get is incredibly luck based). Hopefully they'll give us the Black Emporium where you can buy that stuff soon.

You can still farm schematics.  They only removed the exploit for the amulet in Crestwood.  Of course they also completely removed a few amulets of power altogether.  But you can still farm schematics.  I spent 5 hours in the Cradle of Suledin (or whatever it's called) farming schematics for my KE.  Works great still.

 

As for rune materials.  I have never even tried to farm them.  They only work with autoattacks (and spirit blade) and are a really small factor for DPS.  I just use whatever runes come my way.

Vivienne's amulet in the Winter Palace didn't spawn for me either.

I'm in the process of a new playthrough so see if it's only effecting pre-patch saves.  I am so sick of Hinterlands though that I'm dragging my feet.

 

*EDIT*

I have found at least one amulet so far that is missing post-patch 5 (using a new playthrough), that being Varric's in Valammar.  I have hope I'll find it during Bianca's quest.  I was able to find Cassandra's amulet in Fallow Mire with a new save.

Only ablilies that are mapped were used by the Ai.Even with Flask of  Lighning as a favourite ability,as an example,my rogue wouldnt use it because it wasnt mapped to a button. How retarded is this??

Clear a Path doesn't work they used to before for me...

 

i tried solo using Whirlwind on a fallow mire (endless corpse spawn) and my stamina keeps draining ike crazy...before patch 5, with clear a path i can sustained whirlwind much longer...

 

of course stamina regen is there, but that is not enough to sustain prolonged whirlwind post patch 5...

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, or if it is a new bug at all, as I started my Rogue playthrough after patch 5 was released. I remember seeing somewhere that Hidden Blades was supposed to crit every time right out of stealth with the passive that causes abilties to do so. However, Hidden Blades will sometimes crit the first 3 hits, then not the 3 added hits from the upgraded version, or it will crit every time except the last hit.

Still can't find out if crippling blows weakened effect stack has their own separate timers or if the stack refreshes on crit. Been looking for an answer on this since the release of DA:I, even made a thread about it, no answers :(

Ever since Patch 4 or 5 (not sure which), I cannot trigger a tier-3 Firestorm on my Rift Mage nor Solas. Every time I use Firestorm on either my Rift Mage or Solas at a full 300 focus, I usually get the tier-1 variant or at best the tier-2 version. I have the appropriate Inquisition perks, and the HUD & attributes page confirms I have the full 3 focus bars. This is not the "dying resetting focus glitch" as my character did not die before triggering this bug. I have changed zones, saved & reloaded, and re-gained my focus repeatedly. Nothing fixes the problem. Even worse, I have no problems triggering the tier-3 focus ability on the companions I tested it with. This problem seems to be unique to the Firestorm focus ability in the Rift Mage tree.

 

I'm on the Xbox One, so I'm not sure if this is platform specific problem or maybe something goofy on my save or something else. Can someone check if they can trigger the tier-3 Firestorm ability or if it's stuck on the tier-1 version despite having full focus?

Close to an enemy or from an distance sd an archer?

I've tried both right next to targets and from a distance, it doesn't seem to change the result much. I still get all crits except the last from being distant sometimes, and can sometimes only get 3/6 crits being right next to the enemy. Always cast from stealth ~
