so I heard in this war table mission you *cough* Josephine *cough* can get your clan murdered. does any npc or companion comment on that? It seems like it would be really weird if someone didn't.

I never got a comment.  It was so weird. The only comment was about if I'd go back or not, but that was before their death.  You'd think at least a LI would mention it.

Wow really? you would think an LI or even a companion you had high approval with would mention your whole family being murdered.

Maybe I missed something, but I never heard or saw anything.  Maybe it's a banter, apparently there's some conversation starters that only show up with banter.  **I got the bug with little to no banter in game.

There are two quests as far as I know. The first one is to let the clan know you are all right. The second is to protect them from bandits. I used Josie on the first and Cullen on the second and everything went fine.

There was another quest that involves a different clan. It has something to do with Antiva. But I don't think it has to do with Clan Lavellan.

I sent Josephine on that mission, too.

 

Looks like Arianne has nowhere to return, after all. She's the Inquisitor for life.

Thankfully, at least she has Sera.

 

I'm pretty damn sure the noble we wanted to help them was actually in on the whole "Destroy clan Lavellan" business, with whoever actually attacked Arianne's clan.

Sera speaks the truth. You can't trust Nobles... or politicians, on that matter.

Commander Cullen and Bardmaster Leliana are people who rather act than speak, and both command forces that are loyal to YOU, and nobody else.

As useful as lady Montilyet is, sometimes you simply can't trust anyone but your own forces.

I think I sent Leliana on that mission and they also got wiped out. And no, no one ever commented. I had to rp that the Inquisitor has one hell of a stiff upper lip.

So far here's how you do it:

 

First time contacting the tribe, Picking Cullen ends up in a massacre (serious sending a human army into elf territory, have you read any lore? that was never going to end well.

 

Second time it's bandits this time don't pick diplomacy i've heard several people say diplomacy fails and the clan dies.

 

I chose sending in leliana because i still didn't like the idea of cullens troops on my tribes boarder, from this i found out some Duke is plotting to kill my tribe, it came with a warning not that if i **** this up the tribe will die.

 

has anyone made it this far? what should i pick?

I got a successful result from sending in Leliana the first time, and Cullen to protect the clan. Didn't want the local landlord anywhere near there.

As I mentioned in the other thread (the one Tielis was nice enough to link to), Clan Lavellan can have a happy ending.

It takes a series of war table missions. My Inquisitor chose to have Cullen fight alongside Clan Lavellan when the initial attacks started, then had Leliana sneak the Dalish into Wycome after discovering that the people were under the effects of red lyrium to help the people, and finally had Cullen defend the city because the nobles started incite violence against the Dalish among the other Marcher cities while the non-nobles of Wycome saw Clan Lavellan as heroes, leading to Keeper Istimaethoriel becoming a leader of the city among a council of others, which will include an elven member of the Alienage.
