Lets say an armor you craft has 150 armor, 10 magic and 10 willpower. If you sacrifice your masterwork mats to get the +10% stat bonus I'd end up with +1 magic, +1 will and a slight armor boost.
Instead - you can use master crafting mats that increases max mana / stamina, hidden blades on attack, chain lightning , 2 seconds of invulnerability and much much more. The +10% stat bonus when crafting an armor is in my experience NEVER worth losing out on "proper" crafting options.
Sooo... I'm probably missing something right? ![]()
What is the point of mastercraft? (10% stat bonus)

In my case, I went with it on my weapon but not armor, because I personally didn't care about having more defense (I put hidden blades on my armor), but I wanted to max out my damage. 10% on a weapon means 10% weapon damage, which I think translates to 10% more damage on literally everything you do, and I couldn't find any other masterwork materials that gave anything like that.
Hidden blades is the closest, I think, but at best it's just a 10% chance to do 500% weapon damage (and in fact it isn't quite that good, because sometimes it'll proc when your target is already dying), which in practice shouldn't come close to +10% on everything, even if you can take advantage of the extra hits proccing other stuff. Caltrops is the other one that might be okay for damage, I think, but as far as I can tell, it's bugged--I tried it, and every time it procced, it ticked away for tons of damage on me, instead of my target, and I killed myself in under a second.
(I'm being a little sloppy here: the 10% boost will actually probably be slightly more than 10% more damage on everything, because you should also get an extra % or two on attack, crit chance, and/or crit damage, depending on what inherent stats you have on the weapon.)
