I have been considering crafting a set of armor in MP, but I am wondering if the material has any impact upon the armor defence since you cannot see any information for or against..

In SP, the metal, leather, cloth type had bonus' for the armor unique to the item.. is it the same for MP? or would I get the same result from crafting legion commander's plate using Iron as I would say bloodstone?

So far, no.

It does seem to affect the "extra" pieces you add to armor though.  IE gloves/boots and the added parts for weapons.

My thanks. Yeah, I noticed the material had an impact upon upgrade components, was just not sure if it was worth holding off creating until I had enough of tier 2 resources or just make it outright with tier 1. If they are the same, I'll just go ahead and use iron and silk. Cheers.

Yes it does.

I have crafted alot of armor and using tier 3 pieaces for the main part have given me the high end blue armor sets.

Use tier 1 material and you might get a blue, you might stay on white, but above all, your blue armor is going to have very low defence.

There are around 4 variations of defence on each armor type, maybe 5, not sure.

I crafted a 68 defence cloth for my arcane warrior, 78 defence for the reaver, 73 defence for my assassin, etc etc.

The guy above saying no have very limited experience crafting in multiplayer.

So if I have a choice of materials I should chose the ones that seem the best as in Dragon scales over something more mundane?  More unique materials than just iron etc?

100% incorrect, but please, continue to educate people here.

No, just use iron, there is no difference in the materials you use.  Save the rare stuff for upgrade components, the actual armor pieces DO NOT take into account the quality of material at all.

Okay gotcha, use base stuff for the armour but use the better looking stuff for the upgrades.

Yeah, save your tier 3 mats for crafting weapon pieces. If you go to your inventory screen and click on crafting you can see what each of the materials will give you. Then compare that with what is required and the type of slot it is (example: utility, offense, defense).

I know all that, I just was wondering about armor, nothing more nothing less.. since there was no information for or against to the use of higher tier resources when crafting the "outfit".
