I have yet to roll a mage yet but im about to , i wanted to ask though since i looked at my current mages ( companions) skill trees and have noticed that none of them have that sliding backward while leaving a trail of fire or ice behind them in order to chill or burn you , is that skill exclusive to enemy spellbinders?

Fade Step in Ice tree is something like that, only it slides you forward quite a bit and it's upgrade chills everything you phase through.
