Why is the Templar Armor model different for mages and rogues?

I didn't spend half an hour collecting Silverite so I could wear a stupid apron.

Why the heck would you pull this switch with the templar armor when mages can wear any other heavy armor -- including Grey Warden heavy armor -- just fine?

I thought the whole purpose of silverite crafting is so you can wear whatever you want if you put enough work into it. Instead, I get rewarded with this piece of trash:

Is this for real? Why do the schematics for a studded apron need 19 pieces of silverite, and cost 9k to purchase?

Hoping its a bug.

The entire point of cross-class armor is the looks.

Then if you don't like the look, I wouldn't get the Templar Armor.

Not sure what you mean. The Templar armor looks fantastic. But it changes to some weird ... leathery cloth suit thing as a mage.

That's what the Templars look like of the rogue variety? Have you not noticed some of the templar npcs?

Get to Skyhold. Automatically added to inventory and equipped when I got there.

I don't mind the way it looks on rogues, but this apron is dumb. It's not even a templar-related light armor; it's supposed to be the templar heavy armor itself.

As someone else said, the whole point of using Silverite [19 pieces at that] to craft this is because you like how the heavy armor looks.

But I'm not a rogue, and I wouldn't be complaining if Templar light-armor looked different from Templar heavy armor [similar to how the Grey Warden heavy armor looks different from the GW Battlemage armor] because that would make sense.

What doesn't make sense is why a piece of heavy armor suddenly ends up looking like a studded apron.

No other heavy armor in the game gets this bait-and-switch when using Silverite to remove the class restriction.

Curious, not for me. Been at Skyhold for quite awhile now. I'll continue the search.

Definitely not. My nightmare mage character has the hood, and it's called "Mage hood."

I wonder what the deal is then? That hood looks really good.

I hate this too. I love the game and there are some armours that look pretty cool, but I just spent 9k on getting the Templar Armour schematic and got some silverite too in order to put some badass metal on my Knight Enchanter. Instead it looked like that? Like ok if you want it to look different on a mage, fine...but that? I honestly don't get it.

Then again there aren't that many variations of Templars considering throughout the history they have always been warriors instead of rouges maybe bioware will fix it or attempt to reskin them in a future patch I just wish the seekers wore that sweet black and yellow armour from them movie just made the seekers look so un interesting considering there chantry black ops

I really don't like this either. They should just do medium, light & heavy versions of the templar armour (if people want those specific looks) and cross-class versions have no change. Armour variations in general have been pretty bad, though. Constantly seeing NPCs with nice looking gear (Venatori Assassins & Venatori Mage hoods <3) but my Inq has been stuck with the same looking outfit since arriving in haven, with the only 'roguey' hood being low tier, a random drop AND designed for mages >.>.

Honestly, I'm expecting to see a great deal of schematics drip fed back to us via DLCs :/

Yeah. I mean, on the flip side, what happens if I'm a warrior and I like how the templar armor looks like on mages or rogues? It should've been done like the Grey Warden armors, where you have 3 different models but they don't change when you craft them for cross-class.

Good luck, nearly done with my 2nd playthrough, no drop.

Game doesn't like me though, I stopped my warrior playthrough at the Redcliffe Chantry, when I actually found the schematic.

(rogue was just much more fun)
